Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue is proud to be an all-volunteer organization and without your dedication we would not be able to rescue nearly 200 dogs in need annually.
In this issue, we recognize many of you who have sacrificed hours of your time to make 2021 a successful year in rescue. But just as important, we have a real need for more volunteers to fill important roles in the organization, including several positions on the B0ard of Directors. We need you!

Outgoing we would like to thank Wilma Herrera for coordinating our social media Facebook posts as well as contributing her time and talents as a graphic designer for NRGRR. And a big shout out to Jennifer Edwards who created and led Golden on the Green for eighteen years! This year Golden on the Green celebrated its 20th Anniversary (Year 19 was a virtual golf tournament).
Additionally, we want to thank each and every one of you who have shown up for an NRGRR event to volunteer your time, talents, and enthusiasm. This includes our annual dog swims, bi-monthly Meet and Greets, Bark in the Park, Golden Smiles, and Golden on the Green. Also thank you to those who contribute to the Rescue Ranger, create the annual NRGRR calendar, our Medical Team, Dog Behavior Team, Community Outreach Team, Communications Team, Transportation Team, and Board of Directors.
Last but not least, a HUGE thank you to all of you who have worked so hard this year tracking and trapping runaway dogs including Hartman, Dozy, and Lewis! Your dedication to finding these lost souls, your loss of sleep, and mastering “grilling” skills, goes above and beyond!
Julie Rigby, Don Gelo, Lesa Babbs, Deb Yeazle, Maribeth Howlett, Samantha Flynn, A.J. Pfander, Brad Miller, Steve Mayberry, Andrea Loper, Rosemary Ford, Debby Givens, Tracey Canterbury – you guys ROCK!
(We apologize if we missed someone; so many folks have pitched in to help. We appreciate ALL of you!) Also thank you everyone who has made, hung, and taken down flyers to help find our dogs.
There is also an entire community of “dog rescuers” outside of the NRGRR family who have joined in to help us find our missing dogs. Although we do not have all of their names to include, we are so grateful for their help in these rescue missions! A special thanks to Jim Sliwa and BRATT (Beagle Rescue and Trapping Team). It is so wonderful to see various rescue groups come along side to support each other.
NRGRR cannot exist without the many volunteers it takes to plan, execute, and lead special events and manage day-to-day operations. THANK YOU for all you do!
If you would like to be a part of what makes NRGRR such a great organization, please visit the website and fill out a volunteer interest form.
Note: If you stepped into a new role with NRGRR this year and we did not mention your name, we apologize. We appreciate each and every one of you and your contributions to the NRGRR family.
