Mrs. Crosby  loves to play and we love to play with her . . . tee hee hee.  Hat Box is one of our most favorite yarns in the shop.  We've all dipped into our wallets and bought some for ourselves . . . most of us have done so on multiple occasions.  Why do we love it so much??  Superwash Merino, Silk and Cashmere may have a lot to do with it.  The color palette makes me want to grow some pig tails, then braid them, and jump up and down for joy.  They are to die for!  The stitch definition is amazing, and the way yarn slips off my needles makes me smile every time.

There are more patterns that are perfect for Mrs. Crosby's Hat Box than we have time to even show you.  Here's a peak at one of Vicki's super fabulous creations . . . The Blurre, featuring three of the amazing Hat Box Colors!  Take a look below for some other patterns by some of our favorite designers, including Joji Locatelli and Melanie Berg, that we would love to see worked up in Hat Box.

ATENTI HAS ARRIVED!!!

We love ATENTI!!!  I've always been obsessed with anything that serves more than one purpose . . . a table that folds into a shelving unit, a bracelet that is also a tape measure . . .a beautiful handcrafted piece of jewelry that seconds as a needle gauge, etc..  There's just something about getting extra bang for my buck that makes me feel happy!! That's one of the reasons why my house is full of Atenti bags  - they are perfect homes for all of my projects while being beautiful enough to second as handbags!  Here's a sneak peak at some of our favorites for spring/summer!

 Our Favorite New Arrivals

We've always LOVED Autumn Wind from Lotus Yarns.  It's a dk weight cotton/cashmere blend that makes the most beautiful spring and summer projects!  The cashmere softens up the cotton and lends the most amazing drape to any pattern!

I put my mom, Claire Bear, to work again and had her knit up the Tuscarora by Patti Lyons in the new Autumn Wind Confetti, and it came out AMAZING!!

Come see our collection of and pick out your favorite . . .  whether solid, variegated or confetti dyed!

There is something about having linen worked into my summer wardrobe that just screams OHHHHHH YEAAAAHHHH!!  It breathes, it has just the right amount of structure, it's crisp and clean . . . I LOVE it!  What I DON'T love is how hard it is to find linen yarns that aren't so scratchy and sharp that I don't want to work with them or wear them.

Thank you Stacy Charles for solving this conundrum for us with the Ariana!  The Ariana is  a soft and supple worsted weight 100% linen tape yarn that produces light and drapey fabrics without the sharp scratchiness that many linens give us.  We are LOVING it.  Here are a couple of our favorite patterns featured in Ariana.  You can come see them in person at the shop.

Summer Favorites
This spring is all about ponchos, ponchos and more ponchos.  I'm not gonna lie, I love it when ponchos are the "in" garment of the season.  When fashion meets function it always feels as if the stars all in alignment!  Pair one with any outfit to keep that cool spring breeze in line, while adding a super-chic layer that is the perfect finishing touch for any fashion ensemble!  I don't mind saying . . . they hide a multitude of sins committed by chocolate and ice cream too - tee hee hee ;).  These are just a few of our favorites!  Come into the shop and hook yourself up with all you need to whip on one for yourself!

We LOVE Shibui!!  Everything about their yarns makes me jump for joy.  Making a project with Shibui is like painting with your needles or hook.  One of my favorite yarns for spring/summer is Twig.  The blue poncho featured up above is made out of it.   A unique combination of three fibers (linen, recycled silk and wool), Twig knits into a soft and cool fabric with the kind of drape that is simply effortless.  Here are some fabulous patterns featuring Twig.

Here's a peek at Shibui's super sophisticated color palette . . .

Sourced from the trade shows in Europe, EY Select brings you its favorite selections, and gives you the opportunity to experience some of the finest yarns that Europe has to offer.  Our favorite this season is Bel Viso, a fingering weight cotton/linen blend with a subtly marled look that gives any project just the right amount of visual interest.  Those of you who know me know that hot flashes are the current bane of my existence.  The Bel Viso is the perfect light weight, breathable fiber to keep me from melting!  Here are some patterns we love for the Bel Viso and a peek at their super soft and springy color palette.

For the Love of Lang!!!  We carry so many amazing Lang Yarns for spring and summer.  One of our faves is Ella.  A thick-and-thin cotton blend, the Ella has a f ine, elegant texture with variation in yarn structure. Matt/shiny and transparent/opaque elements give character to this super sophisticated yarn.  Check out these amazing patterns featuring Ella . . . we can't decide which one we like best!!

Here's a look at some of the colors . . . come on in to see them all!

When one of my favorites reps, Miss Mickey Landau,  showed me this pattern and the amazing yarn it was made of, I knew it had to make it's way onto our spring schedule!!  I immediately ran to our resident Crochet Godess, Vicki, and she started the sample that night!

The open, flowy design of the sweater features longer front panels that make this a perfectly chic over piece for any of your spring/summer outfits.  And Linea Pura's Solo Lino Melange is one of my favorite spring yarns.  A combination of linen and recycled linen provide the structure of linen with a much softer hand.  The subtle, marled dye treatment create the perfect amount of visual interest.

Araucania's Mana is on the shelves.  100% mulberry silk madness I tells ya!!  The sheen, the hand, the drape . . . and worsted weight!!  You can knit this puppy on a size US 7 - 9 and create absolute beauty in a reasonable amount of time . . . you don't even have to feel guilty adding it to your Work-in-Progress list - tee hee hee ;).  The colors are truly amazing in Araucania's super saturated and vibrant kettle dye style.  There are so many projects perfect for this yarn . . . in both knit and crochet.  Here are a couple of our faves . . .

Here's a sneak peek at the colors . . . yummy!!

New and fabulous spring kits have arrived from Artyarns.  There is really nothing that says luxury more than the fabulous yarn blends, colors and dye styles from Irish Schreier.   Artyarns fibers are manufactured in the United States. They strongly believe in local sourcing of materials and equipment and utilize energy efficient systems and sustainable materials.

The Glitter Kit is one of our favorites . . . check it out!

And one of the most fun pieces to knit with a super springy and chic style . . . The Lazy Days Shawl and Tunic kits.

Sublime Evie & Evie Print are made in Italy using the finest Mako Cotton. It is gloriously soft and lightweight.  We love working with it, and wearing it is even better!!  Evie is offered in a solid palette of soft pastels and classic neutrals.  Evie prints are offered in a palette of amazing, self striping printed shades.  Can you say YUMMY??? Here's a sneak peek at some of the patterns . . .

We love the Knitter's Keep bracelet and accessories from Coco Knits, and that special knitter on your list will love them too.  A magnetic bracelet available in grey, green, or blue that keeps the notions you need near you on  your wrist instead of in the couch cushions, on the floor or in your pet's mouth - tee hee hee.
