Important Notice: Reemphasis on Uniform Policy

Dear Students,

We would like to take this opportunity to reemphasize the importance of adhering to our flight school’s uniform policy. Wearing the full and correct uniform is crucial for maintaining the professional standards and safety protocols that are integral to our training environment.

Please be reminded of the following dress code requirements:

 • Full uniform is required at all times.

 • Absolutely no sweatpants or sneakers are allowed.

Failure to comply with the uniform policy will result in the following penalties:

 • Students will not be able to check in for flight bookings.

 • Students will be charged cancellation fees for any missed flights due to non-compliance.

We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining the high standards of our flight school and ensuring a professional training environment for all.

Exciting Opportunity: Tours of Abbotsford Air Traffic Control Tower

Our flight school will be offering tours of the Abbotsford Air Traffic Control Tower next week! This is a unique opportunity to gain insights into the operations and procedures of air traffic control.

Tour Dates:

• Tuesday evening (5.30PM - 6.00PM)

• Wednesday evening (5.30PM - 6.00PM)

If you are interested in joining one of these tours, please contact our admin team to sign up. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis, as only small groups are allowed. One of our Instructors will be coordinating with the tower staff this week to arrange time slots that will best fit with their coverage schedule next week. We aim to provide you with an informative and enriching experience.

Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity!

(Please Note – Schedule for Tower Tour is subject to change due to weather and tower staff coverage. They sometimes cancel last minute if they are understaffed.)

Announcement: Relaunch of Night Operations

There will be official relaunch of our night operations, complete with an updated procedure that includes after-hours self-serve refueling. This new procedure has been implemented to ensure we maximize the prime flying season for everyone and encourage students to take advantage of the less busy hours for solo and night flights.

Key Points of the New Night Operations Procedure:

• After-Hour Self-Serve Refueling: Students can now refuel aircraft independently during night operations, ensuring continued availability and convenience.

 • Optimized Fleet Utilization: The new procedure allows us to make the best use of our fleet, providing more opportunities for flight training and solo flights during peak season.

• Encouragement for Solo Flights: We strongly encourage students to book solo flights during night operations to take advantage of quieter airspace and less crowded schedules.

We are committed to providing a seamless and productive flying experience for all our students, and we believe these changes will greatly benefit your training and flying opportunities.

Important Notice: Migration to Slack for All Communications

We will have completed the onboarding process for Slack. All flight training-related communications have now officially migrated to Slack.

• Slack Invitations: Active students should have received their Slack invitations by now. We have sent out Slack Invitations to student’s email addresses. To ensure you don’t miss out on important updates and communications, please check your junk or spam mail folder if you haven’t received the invitation in your inbox. If it’s not even there, please contact the admin team immediately.

• Student Responsibility: It is the student’s responsibility to set up Slack on their devices as soon as possible.

• Training Materials: All training materials will now be available on Slack Canvas.

• Group Chats: All group chats will be moved to Slack instructor channels.

• Direct Messages: All text messages or WhatsApp messages will be moved to Slack DMs.

• Phone Calls: All phone calls with instructors will be conducted via Slack Huddle.

Instructors are no longer obligated to respond to student messages or phone calls on their personal cell phone numbers. Students are responsible for any cancellations that occur due to failure to set up Slack properly and in a timely manner.

Your prompt attention to this transition and your cooperation in ensuring a smooth and efficient communication process moving forward, will be much appreciated.

As we approach the end of this newsletter, we’d like to remind you that Coastal Pacific Aviation will be closed on Monday in observance of the Canada Day statutory holiday. We hope you have a wonderful long weekend filled with celebration and relaxation. We will resume regular business hours on Tuesday.

Thank you for your continued trust in “Coastal Pacific Aviation''.
