October 12th ~ Pierce Edens - $8

Pierce Edens is an independent musician and singer-songwriter from Western North Carolina. He is best known for his powerful vocals and haunting, fiery music that captivates listening rooms and excites dance floors in equal measure. Sitting alongside long-time bandmate, Kevin Reese, the musical duo take their audience on a well-crafted journey. Built song-by-song, the room becomes an experiential fortress filled with Edens’ signature vibrato, an unusually soulful, waverly tenor that conveys each song’s emotional depth. The duo’s sound is both intimate and gritty, atmospheric and raw - a hard-edged folk sound that is uniquely Pierce Edens.

October 19th ~ Michael Reno Harrell - $8

Michael Reno Harrell is an award winning songwriter, as well as a veteran storyteller and entertainer, and he’s from the South. One could compare Michael's performances to his granddaddy's pocket knife: well worn and familiar feeling, but razor sharp, and with a point. His original songs and stories have been described as “Appalachian grit and wit” but, as his writing shows, Michael’s awareness is much broader than the bounds of his boyhood home or even the Southern Experience. Between the approachable, feel-good nature of his music, and vivid story-telling that leaves you smiling, Michael creates an auditory experience that has to be witnessed in person.

YA’LL COME!!!!!

The Good Nabors

by Cappy Hall Rearick

A Southern summer without tomatoes from the Nabors is like a Northern winter.

Hot weather makes me bitchy, witchy and itchy, but without it, there wouldn’t be any tomatoes from Charlie and Ann Nabors in Saluda.

To date, I have never eaten a summer tomato as tasty as those red beauties grown in the soil of the Nabor’s garden. Any Yankee craving Southern Comfort needs to come on up here in July and stay through September. Charlie says Fall tomatoes are the best!

New Jersey tomatoes taste pretty good. Like their Carpetbagger ancestors, however, I figure the N.J. vegetable growers marched down to Western North Carolina and stole some of Charlie’s tomato dirt to take back up north. History tends to repeat itself.

For me, growing up in the south meant local backyard gardeners coming to our door every summer day selling quart jars of shelled butterbeans, field peas, okra, cucumbers and home-grown tomatoes. Mama kept dollar bills and a piece or two of change in the proverbial cookie jar earmarked for veggies.

Most of the time, it was a woman coming to the house with a kid shyly peeking around her skirt tail. Mama was thankful not to have to shell peas or beans, so she never haggled. Most days, she cooked butterbeans flavored with a ham hock because it was Daddy’s favorite. He would rather eat a second or third helping of butterbeans and rice than a big slice of chocolate cake. Go figure!

I once took my former husband, the token Yankee in our family, to meet my Carolina relatives. Would you believe he dared to bad mouth okra? Out loud. He might just as well have stomped on Robert E. Lee’s grave.

“What did he say,” yelled Aunt Polly whose hearing problems seemed to clear up at the slightest mention of food. “Sounded like he said okra was slimy.”

That’s what he said, all right, and then that fool man kept digging deeper holes for himself. I wanted to crawl into one of them.

With his mouth full of fried chicken he asked, “How can you people swallow slimy okra?”

I looked around the large kitchen table where six of my relatives were staring holes through my then-husband. Uh oh, I thought. The South is fixing to rise again.

Aunt Polly swallowed a mouthful of butterbeans and rice and pointed her fork at him. “Watch yo’ self, boy. Bad mouthing okra is fightin’ words.”

I shoved a dish of macaroni pie at him. “Try some of this, Sweetie. You’ll like it.”

Paying no attention to the hostile glares directed at him from my kinfolks, and having no indication whatsoever that Southerners serve macaroni pie as a side dish, and not an entrée, he filled up his plate.

“I love Mac & Cheese,” he said, making almost the same southern blunder as when he asked for UN-sweet tea.

“It’s macaroni pie,” I said. “Mac & Cheese is store-bought.”

“Oh,” he said, clearly disappointed. “I like the kind in the blue and white box. Make a note of that, Wifey.”

Wifey? Could things get any worse? I held my breath knowing Aunt Polly was about to jump on him like a tree frog.

“We don’t do store-bought in this family,” she said. “Make a note of that, Hubby.”

Mama, striving for peace at any cost, glared at her sister. “Polly, did you eat the only pulley bone? That was supposed to be for company.”

My aunt put a sanctimonious smile on her face. “I sho’ did. Now pass me the okra. My mouth is in need of some prime slime.”

Aunt Polly could be a pain, but that day her rhyme-time sense of humor made us all laugh, even the Yankee who had no idea what we thought was so funny.

Fried chicken, butterbeans and rice, okra, cucumbers soaked in vinegar, sliced tomatoes, macaroni pie, banana pudding and sweet tea. Best of all, tomatoes from Charlie and Ann Nabors. Now, that’s what I call right neighborly. If the South had battled the War of Northern Aggression with vittles like that, we’d a won that ol’ war.

Let's Get Outside!

Public Invited to Give Input on Saluda Grade Trail

Two public meetings have been scheduled on the Saluda Grade Trail—in Inman, SC on Oct. 17 and Columbus, NC on Oct. 19. The public is invited to drop in, learn more about the proposed trail, and share goals, ideas, and concerns.

Kristin Cozza, Trails and Greenways Coordinator for Conserving Carolina says, “We are excited about the opportunity to meet with the community to discuss the next phase of use for this iconic rail corridor. We want to ensure that this project reflects the community's vision and priorities.”

The SC public meeting will be held at the Inman Library on Oct. 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. The NC public meeting will be held at Polk County High School on Oct. 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

The meetings will be held drop-in style, so people can come on their own schedule. It is not necessary to stay the entire time. Participants can circulate through various stations, where they will have opportunities to give input on various aspects of the trail. This input will inform the overall vision for the trail.

The Saluda Grade Trail is a proposed 31-mile rail trail that would follow the route of the historic Saluda Grade rail line. Along the way, it would run through Campobello, Inman, Landrum, Tryon, Saluda, and Zirconia. The Saluda Grade Trail is being spearheaded by a coalition of nonprofits in NC and SC—Conserving Carolina; PAL: Play, Advocate, Live Well; and Upstate Forever.

The proposed trail is in very early stages and there are still a lot of questions to explore. The Saluda Grade Trail coalition has engaged the firm Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. to conduct an economic impact and feasibility study, which began this summer. As part of this study, the coalition is seeking public input about the trail. After the public meetings, there will also be an online survey. If you want to get updates on the trail, including opportunities for future public input, sign up for emails at saludagradetrail.org.

RSVP for the public meetings is encouraged but not required. You can RSVP at saludagradetrail.org

Palmetto A quiet, moderate out and back walk of approximately 3-miles, 2-hours. This trail will take us to Heatherly Heights Road, with some switch backs and stairs, and back down again. Parking is on the left side of the road at the SC state line.

October 15- Round Mountain Explore the site of the Battle of Round Mountain. Located off Howard Gap Road, the walk offers a picnic area, rock outcroppings, and for the adventurous, a strenuous climb to the top of the mountain for Piedmont views.

November 5 - Cabins in the Cove Tour a 1920’s restored log cabin, surrounding grounds and trails of nearly 1-mile on adjoining property that feature an early 1900s barn, and small waterfall. See the natural regeneration from the damage of 2018 tropical storm Zeta.

Walkers meet at the parking lot of the Saluda Library at 2 pm. A SCLT member will keep you aware of the terrain of the trail and share their insights about the history, flora, and fauna of the area.

Prepare for each walk with comfortable shoes, a walking stick, water, and a snack. Feel free to bring your field guides and a camera. Please provide any pertinent medical history to your guide. Many of these hikes will access private property. SCLT has obtained the owners' permission to allow you to access these areas that are normally not available to the public.

Call ahead to determine whether the hike will welcome four-footed companions.

Henry's Nature Center

Henry’s Nature Center has a working team to continue to create usable outdoor spaces for hiking, learning to identify the trees and plants and to have an appreciation of our local natural surrounds within walking distance from downtown.

Currently they are having signage and named trails signs made as well as coordinating a big workday for Saturday Oct.14th .

Team member, Dennis Niemeyer, is donating 50 Oakleaf

Hydrangeas and getting other native plants at wholesale

prices. If interested in helping with this workday, please

contact Lin Savage at …wncsavages@gmail.com.

Trails sometime need a helping hand

A BIG TIP of the HAT goes to Jim Beyer who, most often with his side kicker (and wife) Kathy, keep SCLT trails cleared after a few limbs (like the one pictured) get in the trail which keeps our hikers from walking on SCLT maintained trails.

Thank you,

Jim and Kathy!!

Early Days of SCLT

"The key to realizing a dream is to focus not on success but significance—and then even the small steps

and little victories along your path will take on greater

meaning." Oprah Winfrey

Over a decade ago when SCLT was in its formative years, some of its members became concerned about

the amount of paper from the customer’s post office boxes that

was going into the trash. Why not recycle?

And a significant small step was taken.

SCLT purchased a $70 recycling container (which was not a

small expense in those days), the Post Office

agreed to recycle its contents and the rest is history!

Pearson’s Falls and Glen

Come enjoy an early fall hike at Pearson’s Falls and Glen. October brings clear blue skies, leaves changing color and drifting downward, and late blooming wild flowers such as Goldenrods, Asters, and Turtlehead. It is a wonderful time to be outside with your family and take some photographs.

The Pearson’s Falls trail is a moderate, shady 1/4-mile hike along the tumbling water of Colt Creek to the 90’ waterfall. Pearson’s Falls is located three miles south of Saluda off Highway 176. You will see signs with directions to the Pearson’s Falls entrance at 2748 Pearson’s Falls Road. Many benches and picnic tables are available if you wish to bring a picnic or sit and enjoy the changing season.

Admission is $5, ages 6 - 12 $1, and under 6 free. Annual passes are available. No dogs are allowed. No wading or swimming. Hours are 10 AM to 6 PM Monday through Sunday. (The gate closes at 5 PM.) For more information go to www.pearsonsfalls.org. or call 828-894-0301.

Saluda Visitor’s Center

 Did You Know?

that October in Saluda is one of our busiest months. Folks will be visiting our small town from all over the USA. That is always amazing to our volunteers at the Visitor Center. How do people from the far reaches of the country find Saluda? We always ask that question and the most popular answers are they have family nearby or they wanted to hike or kayak in a beautiful place or they searched the internet for a small interesting town to visit. Whatever the reason, we welcome our visitors and hope they enjoy our beautiful weather and our peaceful town.

There are many activities going on in our area in October. Those activities are posted in the Visitor Center. If you have events or activities that you would like to post in the Visitor Center, please send them or email them to Lynn Casey at caseysaluda@gmail.com

The Visitor Center, located at 20 W. Main Street, has a nice open room with information about Saluda and the surrounding area and two ADA-compliant restrooms. The Center features a slideshow created by the Saluda Historical Society that highlights Saluda’s history.

The center is operated by an all-volunteer staff and all operating expenses are split equally between the Saluda Downtown Foundation, Saluda Business Association, and the Saluda Tourism Development Authority.

Additionally, we’d like to invite visitors and residents alike to visit the Center to learn about Saluda’s Historic walks or scenic drives, get hiking trail maps and area maps. We also have “Things to do in Saluda” list, restaurant menus, lodging choices and a variety of business pamphlets. We continue to put out a call for more volunteers for short

shifts to provide information and keep the facility clean and organized.

The shifts are easy and fun, you meet nice people, and you will be properly trained before starting.

Please consider volunteering or just drop by during hours to say hello!

We would like to welcome our newest volunteers, Misty Davis and Suzanne Warwick!!

If you are interested in volunteering or learning more about the Visitor Center please contact Lynn Casey at caseysaluda@gmail.com.

Every Wednesday morning, in the Parish Hall of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, you will see eight women busy painting. Jokingly referred to as The Painted Ladies, the name stuck. For over six years, Sa Smith has been guiding this group in the art of watercolor. During this time, a card ministry evolved.

On Wednesday mornings, Sa leads the group in prayer and a brief meditation. Afterwards, they discuss concerns of their Parish, family and friends. These are the folks who receive lovingly painted and crafted cards, with notes from these artists. Approximately 150 cards are sent each year to Parishioners and Friends.

The cards were so well received, the Painted Ladies decided to start an Outreach project by making their cards available for sale. Sa remembers her father’s words, “You need food to think clearly. If someone is hungry, he cannot learn and therefore not be educated”. That message resonated with Sa. The Pop-Up Pantry, “friends helping friends”, is the recipient of all proceeds from the sale of their cards.

We encourage you to stop by the Parish Office, Tuesday through Thursday, from 9:00am to 3:00pm. The cost of these hand-crafted cards is $2.50 - $8.00. Every notecard is unique and blank on the inside, and includes an envelope. The artwork this group is making available to the community is impressive.

The Pop-Up Pantry is grateful for this ministry and the women of Transfiguration who have offered their time and talent. We extend our thanks to the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration who provided the seed money to begin the Pop-Up Pantry, and continues to support us by sharing their talent, donations, and volunteer efforts.

ONE ROOM LEFT FOR FLOWER FESTIVAL

The June 1, 2023, trip to Carunchio, Saluda’s Sister City, has one room open due to a medical cancellation. Trip is all inclusive except for airfare. Enjoy the restored 1700’s palazzo; Chef Dino’s amazing food; cooking lessons; guided tours to Vasto, olive grove, cheese factory, bell foundry, and more…and a special seafood lunch at the Adriatic coast. You will be there for the annual Flower Festival and will participate with the residents of Carunchio in making beautiful pictures out of flowers. Cost is 2400 euros cash or 2500 euros on credit card per person. At today’s rate, 2400 euros is $2,572.

NEW BOARD

The new Sister City Board is busy working on a website, wine tasting, Italian dinner night, Saluda/Carunchio photo book, plans for two new student visitors who will be here the summer of 2024, and more. We are looking for volunteers to occasionally help with projects. If you want to be involved, contact Sister City below.

TUSCANY TRIP and RIBOLLITA

A number of folks from Saluda are headed in October to two weeks in Tuscany. They will stay in Montisi, a small Italian village in the hill country. The grape vines will be dazzling yellows, orange and reds, and the fields will be plowed with curvaceous lines. It will be olive harvest time and they will hit several traditional festivals including the New Olive Oil Festival in Montisi. They will be eating the famous Tuscan soup, Ribollita. The name of the soup means “reboiled,” indicating that it probably contains left-over vegetables.  Some recipes include bread to thicken, but we prefer it with the bread on the side. For a great recipe, see https://www.themediterraneandish.com/ribollita-recipe/

Don’t use regular kale with its fluffy edges. Instead, get lacinto kale also called Tuscan Kale or black kale. It is available in the organic section at Harris teeter and Fresh Market. Maybe Ingles has it also. Buon Appetito!

Sister City representatives have traveled extensively in Italy

and can give you great advice to help plan your trip.

Maui Fundraiser

It happened in Saluda on a chilly September evening. Well over one hundred

people gathered in the courtyard of Susan Cannon's Saluda Moon Glass Studio to

support a fund-raising effort on behalf of the people of Maui. Remarkably, those who entered the courtyard generously donated their money to help restore the

lives of others whom they did not know, and who lived on an island in the Pacific Ocean that is 5000 miles away from Saluda, But the donors were not the only

people who crowded into Susan's back yard. A dozen Ukulele musicians arrived not from Hawaii, but from Hendersonville and offered a stirring concert of well-

known songs from the nineteen sixties and seventies - "l Can See Clearly Now",

"Country Roads", n'Hey Good Looking", "Sweet Caroline" and many more.

They invited the crowd to sing along, and they did. Then they invited the crowd to dance, and again they did. Imagine the Scene: a crowd of singles, couples, children, babies, young folks, senior citizens, Ukulele musicians, a photographer, Giuliana, taking memorable pictures and a dozen or so people who wandered in from the street. There were even three dogs apparently enjoying themselves. At the end of the evening the crowd became a congregation when they joined hands and sang "Amazing Grace".

Beside the success of the fund-raising drive and the enjoyment of the sing-along there was something greatly uplifting about that Friday evening in Saluda. The news of the day, almost every day, is that Americans no longer respect one another. Our politics are vicious; our neighborhoods are dangerous; our neighbors

cannot be trusted if their race, their religion or their politics are different from ours. Yet, that Friday evening in Saluda clearly showed that none of these needs to

define us.

Preserving Saluda’s Past for its Future

We’re Vlogging!

Please like, share and subscribe to our YouTube page!

In addition to collecting oral histories, we are now vlogging. Vlogging (video blog) is a great way to learn about historical places and interesting people who live or once lived in Saluda and who left an indelible footprint behind by actually visiting historical sites. Check out our first three episodes filmed at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery and most recently Old Mountain Page Baptist Church Cemetery. Please like, share and subscribe to our YouTube page at www.youtube.com/@HistoricSaludaNC. Over 80 videos have been uploaded to this page to date.

Just released! Come join us as we explore the Old Mountain Page Church Cemetery located in Saluda, NC. More on this huge hornet's nest, too! A log church was built in the Mountain Page community in the 1780s. Legend has it that a man with the last name Page settled in the area when the land was still owned by the Cherokee. He was to have donated the land for the first Mountain Page Baptist Church which may have been referred to as the old Mountain Meeting House. The log church burned in 1830 and a frame building was constructed in its place. The church cemetery contains the graves of many of the ancestors of Saluda's families, primarily Paces, including Burrell Pope Pace who died in 1816. Many of his descendants are buried alongside him, along with a few Williams, Hipps, Russells and others. Many graves are unmarked. The frame church eventually burned, as well. Featured in this video is a cinderblock building built in the 1940s for funerals and occasional services. It contains the original handcrafted pews once used in the Old Mountain Page Baptist Church. Did you know that Q.C. Sonner once operated a grocery and dry goods store where Ward’s Grill is today? You have to look very closely but, this is an image of the store captured in the 1942 snowstorm that hit Saluda. (Photo compliments of Roy Johnson, Jr.) See our Facebook page for a clearer peek at the picture.

Registration forms used to nominate a historic place or district to the National Register of Historic Places contain a wealth of information. Here is the link to the registration for the Saluda Main Street Historic District. https://files.nc.gov/ncdcr/nr/PL0012.pdf Below is copied directly from the registration form for the Saluda Main Street Historic District nomination to the National Register of Historic Places completed in 1996, which was later approved. You can see the mention of QC Sonner.

Thompson’s Store, 1905 and 1910 - For more than the last half century this mercantile establishment has been known as Thompson's Store, operated by Lola Thompson Ward and her sons. It was built about the time of the M. A. Pace Store and is identical to it in design. The earliest occupants are believed to have been Quinton C. Sonner and Billy Morris. According to Ward family tradition, Morris willed his part of the store to Miss Arrie Lankford, who ran the store for a time with Sonner. Lankford later sold her share in the store to H. L. Capps, and for a time he and Sonner continued joint operation of the business. They later dissolved their partnership, and each operated a store individually in half the building like Thompson and Pace had done down the street. In the 1930s Q. C. Sonner & Co. advertised groceries, hardware, dry goods, and notions, while H. L. Capps advertised groceries, hardware and paints, and fertilizers. Capps also served as mayor of Saluda and started the town cemetery. After Capps died, Lola Thompson Ward and her family, operating as Thompson's Store, took over Capps' left half of the building and later expanded to include Sonner's right half. Like the M. A. Pace Store, Thompson's Store is a handsome two-story brick structure with very few alterations. The first story of the facade features a central door to the stairs flanked by shop windows and recessed shop entrances. An added metal canopy shelters the first story. The second-story facade carries a row of segmental-arched one-over-one sash windows, above which is a decorative paneled and corbeled brick cornice. The exposed side and rear of the building also have segmental-arched fenestration. Inside, the store and adjacent grill maintain the atmosphere of a by-gone period, although the fixtures are generally newer than those in the M. A. Pace Store.

River Dog Run

October is one of our favorite months in Saluda! Fall is definitely in the air and the cooler temps and fresh aromas are so welcome. And like the rest of the world pumpkins in all forms and flavors start to appear. So come in and check out our fall offerings!

Cooler temps make us think of more robust foods so check out our Mushroom Quiche dishes for a heartier meal. The Apple Pie for Two is also appropriate for this time of year with our apple crops in abundance. The Brie Dish is a welcome addition to any football gathering and we offer an extra recipe for baked brie with Kailua and pecans that is always a hit.

Our “rompers” are tailor made for cool weather. Available in fall colors and with a turtle neck or sweater and leggings they will take you from fall to winter. They can also stay in the kitchen as a handy apron with two large pockets for cooking “stuff.”

Fall house parties mean hostess gifts so we can help with that! Sassy or beautiful tea

towels, candles and other small gifts can fulfill your needs. Who doesn’t need “I’m outdoorsy in that I like drinking on porches?”

To warm up your walls, we have a wide range of art that our owner has carefully curated so treat yourself to something new! We have a wealth of furniture, lamps and rugs that can freshen up your rooms for the upcoming winter.

River Dog Run is open seven days a week and by appointment. Monday through Saturday from 11AM till 5PM and Sunday from noon till 4PM. For an after-hours appointment call 828-551-1461.

The Orchard Inn & Newman's Restaurant & Spa

On my morning walk with my Boxer girl today there was a chill in the air and a distinct smell of the woods that foretells the coming of Fall. There's a good reason why this is the most popular time of year in the mountains of Western North Carolina - because it's just so amazingly beautiful. Not only are the colors of the changing leaves fabulous but it's also the crisp clean quality of the fresh air that's equally as fantastic. As you ascend the winding driveway to our 12-acre elegant mountain oasis, restaurant and spa, framed with beautiful reblooming azaleas and the last of our summer hydrangea flowers, the stress of normal day to day life immediately starts to drift away. The official welcome committee (our Boxer - Roxy) will be standing by to challenge you with a stick and walk you up the steps to our antebellum front porch where she will attempt to lure you into a game of tug of war. Don't be tempted - you're sure to lose. Welcome to the Orchard Inn & Spa and Newman's Restaurant where the temperature is cool, the atmosphere is serene and the hospitality warm. Come help us celebrate 97 years of gracious southern living.

Our fine dining restaurant, Newman's, continues to receive high accolades from food critics far and wide and sells out most every meal. Voted by Our State Magazine as one of the top 14 "must experience restaurants" in North Carolina. We have created a lovely all weather outside dining area on our back terrace with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains. We serve dinner every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights starting at 5:30 pm, and an incredible Brunch every Sunday beginning at 11:30 am. At Newman's Restaurant we strive to bring diners a true "farm to table" gastronomic experience. Treat yourself to a most creatively prepared and delicious fine dining culinary adventure! You don't have to be a guest of the Inn to enjoy a meal at Newman's. Our amazing 3-course brunch is only $45 and goes from 11:30-1:30 every Sunday. Our 4-course dinners are a great value at $89. Every seat in the elegant dining room has an awesome view of the Saluda mountains, and the fire table on our lower gazebo terrace is a perfect place to enjoy a cocktail, glass of wine or local beer prior to dinner. It's hard to find a better meal in the great culinary towns of Asheville, Greenville or Charleston. We are literally a diamond in the woods. Call 828-749-5471 now to book a table this weekend before it's too late. Now serving awesome cocktails and mixed beverages for your enjoyment!

There are still a few spots available for our Holiday Festivities - Thanksgiving is almost full but our Dickens' Dinners, Christmas & New Year's Eve Dinners have limited seating opportunities. Call to reserve.

Our Spa is open and all are welcome. We've created a very zen-like environment where you can de-stress, unwind, relax and be pampered with an array of therapeutic massages or restorative facials by highly skilled therapists. It's a perfect place to have a girl's afternoon off and sit by the waterfall while sipping a glass of wine after a heavenly treatment. The Koi fish are waiting to greet you so come check us out. We are now offering all organic healing products from Appalachian Growers.

We look forward to greeting you soon!

The Fall weather is already kissing our beautiful mountains and we look forward to the change of leaf season heading our way in full force color. Many items arrived in September so you can choose your fall fashions early and get the best choices before they are picked over. Our clothing brands include Kuhl, Prana, Royal Robbins, Cotopaxi, Howler Brothers and Elan.

Another positive about Fall arriving, is that Summer is leaving and with it, our summer apparel needs to go, as well. You can drop by to save as much as 40% on leftover summer shorts and tops for both men and women. We’re setting up a closeout room to make shopping our sales easy.

As we move toward Halloween, Thanksgiving and the Christmas holidays, our buyers have purchased a host of great, unique items that will make great gifts. Crisp breezes and the rustle of leaves become the symphony of our days as we enter into Fall. Twinkling stars give us a beautiful backdrop to our evenings while daylight gives way to longer nights. As cooler weather sets in, our mountains abound with the scents of soil and dried foliage. A wonderful contrast of clean and musk, dry and dewy, cool and rich. We invite you to join us as we bask in the dichotomy this season offers in flavors. Much as it provides the bridge between Summer and Winter, Fall brings with it the first heartier dishes for colder days, while providing us with the last fresh crops before the cold settles for its stay. The best of both worlds.

New Menu

We’ve refreshed our menu for the fall. With the change in season, we’re excited to feature revitalized, refreshed, and new offerings on our entree menu, as well as cocktails and wine. Come in and see this season’s flavors. From squashes to figs to apples to so much more. A spectacular balance of fresh and rich. We’re in love with the flavors of Fall and can’t wait to share our passion with you.
