CUNY Callouts: Meet New Faces

Jovanni Lezama, Guttman ’16, Lehman ’19, is a search marketing analyst at the Walt Disney Company. After graduating from Guttman with a degree in liberal arts, he transferred to Lehman and pursued a major in journalism. His CUNY journey has been marked by resilience and growth, as supportive professors and advisors guided him through choosing courses and encouraged him to break out of his shyness. Now, he is more confident in himself and hopes to inspire others with his success.

What is something tangible and specific you would advise a current student to do to help their professional growth?

“Embracing the struggle is essential for personal growth. By facing challenges head on, and learning from them, one can truly become the best version of themselves and evolve. Every obstacle presents an opportunity for growth, ultimately leading to greater resilience and success. Take it a day at a time.”
