As the largest commercial and HOA landscape service provider in the Pacific Northwest, Pacific Landscape Management provides the most comprehensive water conservation services. As part of this, we teamed up with Weathermatic to become a Weathermatic Premier Partner offering their Smartlink weather-based remote access control through a subscription, making it affordable on virtually all properties.
To quantify the savings that our customers are receiving, we developed several case studies documenting the water savings produced from the Smartlink weather-based irrigation controller on properties that have adopted this technology. The case studies compared water usage data between 2019 and 2020 on four separate properties in different market types (Homeowners Association, Office, Industrial, and Retail). Each of these properties had the Weathermatic Smartlink controllers installed between the 2019 and 2020 irrigation seasons. This analysis was based on March through October water consumption. The winterized months (when little/no irrigation was used) were excluded.
As can be seen in the charts, the case study revealed an impressive
average of 34% water savings in gallons
and a range of $900-$2,400 savings in water utility expenses!
