Dalton's Unemployment Statistics are in for April 
In Dalton, the April unemployment rate fell sharply and jobs continued to climb. 

Dalton added 200 jobs in April, pushing its total to 67,700. That was an increase of 400 over last April. Just three metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) grew by 1,000 jobs or more in April.

DEM Camp Investing in Talent Pipeline
The eighth annual Design, Engineering and Manufacturing Camp was held at the Northwest Georgia College and Career Academy, June 4-8, 2018. This year was the largest Camp DEM with 146 total students participating. Students from eight different school systems attended the camp. During Camp DEM, campers participated in:
  • Electronics
  • Carpet design
  • Laser integrated design
  • Rapid prototyping a race car
  • Career exploration
  • Measurement activities
  • Industrial robotics
  • Sphero robotics
  • Building a hovercraft
  • Designing and fabricating a rocket
  • Catapult building
  • Building KNEX solar power cars
  • Industry tours
  • Team building activities
