Slabs and Slate Roofing available now!

We’re off to a very busy start to the new year. Fueled by his demand and a mild winter, we’re already moving significant amounts of great quantity roofing materials. I look forward to helping with your tile and slate roofing needs this year. Below is a sampling of the various slabs we recovered over the past 6 months of 2022. These profiles, along with many others are available now.

LUDOWICI NORMAN

Last year we had the opportunity to recover over 100 squares of a beautiful 15” x 7” x 1/2” Ludowici Norman tile featuring a pitted surface and colors ranges from red, brown, and black. This tile, along with correlating trim tiles is available for shipment with limited wait times.

We don’t expect this tile to be available long.

LUDOWICI ANTIQUE

We just brought in approx.. 25 squares of leftover brand new 12” x 7” x ½” Ludowici Antique tile with it’s signature roughed surface texture and in the ebony mist color. Along with the field tile, we also brought in several hundred units of trim tiles.

Combined with the leftover new Antique, we have another 25 squares of reclaimed Antique tile in stock.

Let me know if you have interest in one or both of these groups of tile.

MURRAY SHINGLE

For the first time, we were able to successfully reclaim about 15 squares of this beautiful multi-toned Murray Flat Slab Shingle tile measuring 13-1/4” x 6-1/4” x 3/8” thick. Although we have had red and matte green in stock before, this particular color blend is new for us.

LUDOWICI SHINGLE

In 2022 we recovered this true fire flashed Ludowici 12” x 6” x 3/8” Flat Slab Shingle tile. With just over 15 squares in stock, we can accommodate your wall cladding needs for those old Ludowici Closed Shingle and English tile roofs that are also fire flashed in color.

The Necessary Extras

SNOW RETENTION

Alpine Snowguards use a proven/patented fastening method that will maintain the integrity of the roof, without voiding the roofing manufacturer’s warranty and can be installed on new or existing (retrofit) roofs. Many of their snow guards are available in a multitude of color and powder coating options to match any roof and please even the most discerning taste.

FASTENERS

Renaissance offers a variety of fasteners for your tile or slate roofing project. We offer smooth-shank or ring-shank copper or stainless-steel roofing nails in 25lbs. quantities.

Black stainless steel slating hooks are available per pound or per piece.

Proper Planning for 2023

Surely by now you’re fully aware of the significant lead times and shortages plaguing the industry as we’ve all been affected by it. As we navigate these obstacles together, we’re here to help in any way possible. We have some general recommendations:

QUOTING – Ensure your pricing is up to date, at least every 30 days for any projects being quoted or potential sold jobs upcoming. This includes freight charges.

SOLD JOBS – Make sure you notify me immediately of your respective sold jobs. Many materials have been and are cross quoted to other clients and we cannot guarantee the availability of some products due to supply and demand. We cannot “hold” materials based upon verbal agreements.

FUTURE PLANNING – Many of my clients, as well as yours, are accustomed to “on demand materials”. As such, this drive costs up. I encourage you to discuss shortages and extended lead times with your clients. Planning for projects several months away is easier to accomplish than “needing it tomorrow”.

ALTERNATIVES – In some instances, our clients are receptive to alternative products (reclaimed versus new or concrete versus clay). Flexibility is helpful if possible.
