VBS! VBS! VBS!

We are thrilled to be hosting over 60 kids at our Vacation Bible School, which starts Sunday at 5:30. As you know, VBS plays a crucial role in the spiritual development of our community's children. It is one of our church's most important outreach ministries! Now, we have a lot of fun, but let’s not forget about the point of doing this event. VBS provides us the platform to tell kids and their families about Jesus; nothing in the world is more important than that. 

I want to invite you to take a moment and say a special prayer for the success of VBS, that it may be a time of joyful learning, meaningful connections, and spiritual awakening for both the children and the volunteers involved.

-Trimming bushes by the Sixes Cemetery sign.

-Spreading mulch in cemetery around Sixes Cemetery sign and flagpole

-Hauling off debris around dumpster to dump

-Purchasing and planting plants around our flagpole

Give a Kid a Chance - Give A Kid A Chance is a community outreach event designed to provide students in Cherokee and Pickens counties with new backpacks and school supplies. We want students to be prepared to attend school on the first day, ready to learn with the tools they need!

Sixes Church is taking donations to contribute to the event. To donate check out this list. https://www.giveakidachance.org/uploads/School-Supply-List.pdf and bring items to church between now and June 31st.

The Kroger Community Rewards Program makes fundraising easy by donating to local organizations, such as Sixes Church, based on the shopping you do every day. Once you link your Kroger Card to Sixes Church, all you have to do is shop at Kroger and swipe your Kroger Shopper's Card. Follow the directions below to get started:

1. Sign in or create an account with a valid email
2. Under "communications" make sure you have selected your "store preference"
3. Click on "community rewards" on the left of the screen
4. Search for Sixes Church under "find an organization'
5. When Sixes Church appears, click "enroll"

This summer, MUST Ministries will continue the time-honored tradition of partnering with churches, schools, corporations, and volunteers to feed thousands of kids in the metro Atlanta area, including Cherokee County, all summer. MUST's goal is to provide breakfast and lunch to at least 7,500 children for 9 weeks.

Sixes' donation drive for MUST Ministries concludes this Sunday, June 9th. This is the last week to donate items needed for the summer lunch program.

We will collect for the items listed below.

Grits Packets

Pre-packaged Muffins

Please place your donated items in the Summer Lunch Program container in the Narthex and remember the MUST Lunch Program can only use individually wrapped items.

New Ministries Coming to Sixes

The Bridge

Over the summer, Sixes Church is launching The Bridge. The Bridge is a time for families with kids to gather and get to know each other. We will meet at the playground every Wednesday from June 19 - July 31 at 6:30. 

Congregational Care Ministry

In the fall we will be launching a Congregational Care Ministry. The CCM are the After People. After a hard time in life, these people share God’s grace with others. This is the perfect group for people who want to learn to come alongside people in tough seasons of their lives. Info sessions are on June 2nd & June 30th after church

June 16th - Donuts with Dad - This Sixes tradition is all about celebrating dads on Father’s Day! We’ll see you there at 9:30am.

June 19th - The Bridge - The Bridge is a time for families with kids to gather and get to know each other. We will meet at the playground every Wednesday from June 19th - July 31st at 6:30pm.

June 30th - Ice Cream Party - Join us back at the church for a good ole fashion Ice Cream Social!
