Kitsap Schools Reopen:
Bus and Road Safety Reminders for Drivers
Now that most schools are back in session this week, please remember that there are more children out to be aware of - waiting at bus stops, crossing streets and more. Mind the rules of the road when busses have their lights flashing and stop signs out. Failure to observe can result in hefty fines.

To prevent deaths and injuries, Washington statute RCW 46.61.370 outlines strict guidelines for drivers who are traveling behind a school bus. According to the law, when a school bus stops, all drivers on both sides of the road must stop as well. This allows for children to board and leave the bus safely.
