Clays for the Cottage

Silver Willow hosted the 5th Annual event for the Children's Cottage Society of Calgary. This event tested the skills of avid clay shooters and aspiring shooters alike! We had over 200 participants. Sporting Clays are North America's fastest growing sport and supporting children in your community makes it even more worthwhile! We were very thankful there was no rain, so everyone could enjoy themselves. This is one of the largest events hosted by Silver Willow. The volunteers, staff and board members worked hard to put this event together to raise funds for children in need. What a worthy organization! Thanks goes out to our hard working staff, guides and volunteers.
Ladies Learn-To-Shoot
We had 37 awesome ladies come out for our annual ladies learn-to-shoot event. The day started with safety orientation and light breakfast. The ladies spent a few hours shooting on the Green Course before finishing off with lunch.
Thank you so much to all our NSCA instructors who volunteered their time to share their love and knowledge of the sport.

Heritage Day Parade
The Day family have heritage roots to Scotland through Don's mother's side, specifically the Sutherland Clan from the Highlands area.

The town of Carstairs now has an annual event celebrating the town's formation and connection to Scottish history. The town name originated from a Scottish immigrant from Carstairs, Scotland.

The local Carstairs high school is named Hugh Sutherland after Don's Grandfather who was the custodian and a much loved care giver to the kids.

Silver Willow was a proud sponsor of this year's Heritage Day on Sunday June 4th. The event featured pipe bands from all over Alberta, heavy games and a parade of pipes. Even though the whole Day family isn't shown in the photo, they did all participate in the parade this year!
