Lorne Howes Cancer
Fundraiser Shoot
Saturday March 26th

Lorne's family & friends have banded together for 31 years to carry forward and celebrate the life of Lorne Howes. He passed away of Leukemia at the age of 30. He was a life long, best friend of the owners of Silver Willow, Don and Gwen Day.
Congratulations to Kevin Cole with a HOA of 98/100. Great Shooting!!!

We would like to thank all the shooters who participated this year. It was a sold out event !! $30.00 of each registration fee was donated to the Alberta Cancer Foundation in Lorne's name. We raised almost $3,100.00 in total donations from the competing shooters. It is due to our local businesses who donate prizes and those who so generously donate extra cash, that make the Lorne Howes Cancer shoot such a successful and fun event!! Thanks again to all those who participated.

Congratulations to
Tressa Moore,

Congratulations to

Farewell to Amy
We will miss Amy at her reception position. We so appreciated Amy for 5 years of her loyal, hard work serving Silver Willow and its clients.
We all wish Amy the very best in her future endeavours.
Farewell to Jessica

We will miss Jessica's happy demeanour here at Silver Willow. She also joined us 5 years ago and took on the role of Events Coordinator. She helped serve our clients at reception from time to time.

Jessica is moving to a wonderful new role of full time mom, with her new born baby girl Fern. Fern was born March 12th and weighed 9lbs 3oz. Congratulations Jessica and Jason.
Introduction to FITASC Sporting

Josh has graciously agreed to set up an “old style” parcour on the blue course during the
weekend of April 23 and 24. We are doing this to give folks a chance to see the game of FITASC
Sporting up close, but outside of the competitive setting. That is to say the layout will be run like you will find at a World Cup or a Gran Prix event, but it will also include assistance from the referee and even some coaching for those who would like the help. At a big competition, you can expect no help from the officials. During this demonstration, we will provide as much help as we can. We want this to be fun and educational at the same time.

If you are curious and have 20 minutes, Ed Solomons, a FITASC World Champion, has a decent video on YouTube at Click the link below.

BLOG Article - Luther Cutts

Author: Luther Cutts, Head Instructor (NSCA Level 3) and shotgun competitor

The demand for instructors in the shotgun sports is constantly increasing. It would appear that more and more people are recognizing the benefits of learning in a structured environment, and thereby advancing their shotgun skill sets faster and more efficiently.

Not all instructors, however, are created equal, and the informed consumer should be able to determine if a specific instructor is going to be a good fit for them.

Book an Instructor
Prepare for the Spring Shooting season ahead. Take a lesson to refine your shotgunning skills!
Private and semi private lessons are available at a per hour rate. Gun rental, ammo and clay's are extra. A minimum of 1.5 hours per lesson is recommended. Check out our website under Education and Instruction for all the details.
