Welcome to Silver Clovers, a special educational series for people ages 50 and older here in Johnson County. We have upcoming events, both in person and online, to expand your skills and have some fun.

Walk for Health and Wellness


Springtime is a great time to start healthy new routines, such as walking.


In this video, Chelsea Reinberg (Nutrition, Food Safety, and Health Extension agent) offers practical tips to enjoy walking and stay safe.

Did you know?


According to national guidelines, adults need at least 150 minutes of moderate physical activity each week, plus two days of muscle strengthening.


This may seem overwhelming if your lifestyle is mostly sedentary. You can start small. Five or ten minutes of movement is better than none, and the benefits add up throughout the week.

WITS Workout: Apple a Day

Train your brain! WITS Workout is an online, small group "workout." Next week's session features activities related to the apple, relating diet with brain health. 

Preventing Diabetes with Simple Lifestyle Changes

6 to 7 pm, Extension office in Olathe


You can prevent the onset of diabetes through simple nutrition and lifestyle changes.


Join us for an informational session which includes a demonstration of a healthy recipe that you can sample. This event is free but registration is required as space is limited. Learn more

Modifications to a home can allow a person to age in place. This presentation will guide you through changes you can make to your home to make independent living easier and safer.

Gardening Volunteer Opportunity


Tuesday mornings

Sunset Community Garden, Olathe


Do you like to dig in the dirt? Or maybe you're a garden newbie.


We welcome volunteers of all gardening skills and abilities at our Tuesday morning workdays at the Sunset Community Garden in Olathe.


We will weed, prepare beds, plant seeds, and eventually harvest vegetables and fruits. No gardening experience is necessary. Learn more
