Signs of Spring

I hope you and your families are doing well as we continue to navigate through these difficult times. Thankfully, we can count on spring blossoms this time of year, no matter what is going on in the wider world. Here are some signs of spring from the Minute Man National Park. As a reminder, Minute Man National Historical Park is open, but the visitor centers and restrooms remain closed. You are most welcome to visit and find solace in the signs of spring apparent everywhere in the park. Please read below to find out how to visit responsibly. We look forward to the time when we can welcome you back to our visitor centers, but until then, please continue to enjoy Minute Man virtually and in person. Stay well!

Driving By Miss Daisy

Check out the shaggy cows at the Minute Man National Historical Park! Grazing along the Battle Road, Daisy, Autumn, and Holly are evocative of the many animals that would have been present in the landscape at the time of the American Revolution. Daisy and friends are housed at the park thanks to a cooperative agreement with the Codman Community Farms. Breeds include the Highland, Highland/Dexter cross, and a Randall Lineback To view, drive along Rt. 2A (North Great Road) and keep a look out as you approach the Noah Brooks Tavern in Lincoln, see park map. Parking is available at the Brooks Village parking lot across the street but please don’t cross the busy roadway. It’s best to enjoy the herd from afar, as there is an electric fence on the property to keep the animals from straying onto the busy roadway. Thanks to everyone who participated in the park's virtual Patriots' Day and donated to the Friends fundraiser! Thanks to your support, we reached thousands of people from around the country this year. We missed seeing you all at the Patriots' Day events, but we can still connect online. Visit Responsibly

Minute Man National Historical Park Visitor Centers and comfort stations (restrooms) are closed until further notice; the grounds and trails are open sunrise to sunset. The National Park Service wants you to stay safe, so if you do visit the park, please follow these guidelines: Please follow CDC social distancing guidelines when visiting the park. Click on the button below for more information. Help us keep the park and trails clean by carrying out any trash and dog waste (leave no trace).  If you find a parking lot full, please proceed to another parking lot to avoid parking along the road, creating unsafe conditions. Parking lot locations can be found on the park map.

Staff Spotlight

Minute Man National Historical Park welcomes Phil Basak as our new Chief Ranger! Phil leads the Visitor and Resource Protection division at the park, which includes law enforcement and special use permits. Since arriving in late February, Phil hit the ground running in assisting with Patriots’ Day event planning but switched gears when Covid-19 impacted the area and the park.  Phil comes to Minute Man with 12 years of National Park Service experience with previous assignments at Yellowstone National Park, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Glacier National Park, and Big Bend National Park.  Thanks to Phil and all of our essential staff including law enforcement and maintenance for keeping the park open during this difficult time.
