April 2024

Connecting educators to Oshkosh Public Library's resources and services.

If you were a library kid, chances are you still remember taking part in your library’s summer reading program. Can you recall the thrill of selecting a prize (always such tough decisions!) after finishing a fantastic book, and then eagerly sharing the story with the librarian? We’re excited to launch this year’s summer reading program and hope you’ll sign up for a classroom or school visit. Our team can’t wait to share the wide range of engaging and high-energy activities that we’ve created to complement classroom learning.

There are several convenient ways to schedule:

We’re looking forward to partnering with you to ensure that your students’ summer learning experiences are positive and prepare them for a smooth return to the classroom in the fall.

Happy Reading!

Activities & Events

Create, read and learn at the library

When April showers keep kids indoors, we’ve got lots of activities to keep them busy. Call (920) 236-5208 to register unless noted. Check out our Calendar of Events for more details.

Join us on Fri., April 5 at 4:30 p.m. to chatter away about books and enjoy pizza under the Dome. This activity is open to students in grades 3 – 5 and will feature Pages & Co.: The Bookwanderers by Anna James. Kids will receive a copy of the book to keep, making this an excellent opportunity to expand a home library.

Every Monday from 4 – 5 p.m. and on Sat., April 13 & 27 from 10 – 11 a.m., kids can cozy up with our lovable, trained therapy dogs and practice their reading skills.

Kids in grades kindergarten through second grade are welcome to join us on Fri., April 12 at 4:30 p.m. under the Dome. This month’s theme is the rainforest, and each child will receive a book related to the topic.

On Sat., April 20 from 11 a.m. - noon, kids ages 5 and older are invited to join us in the Children’s Department for a brief hands-on activity meant to inspire creativity. No registration required.

ArtFest Elementary Art Exhibit

We LOVE when ArtFest comes to the library! From April 6 – 28, swing by the Children’s Department to experience the creativity of our community’s young artists.
