Have you seen Pomeroy Nature Preserve lately?
We've made improvements!
The parking lot is in! Located on the western edge of the propery near Turkey Hill Road, Pomeroy's new parking lot now offers ample space and a clear access point for visitors.
Check out the sign kiosk, where you can read a description of the property and take advantage of the new bike pump and repair station--a great addition to the Stroud Greenway route made possible by a grant from 1% for Nature. Thanks to our dedicated
volunteers, a cleared trail follows McMichaels Creek all the way to Hickory Valley Park!
An official opening celebration for Pomeroy Nature Preserve is planned for spring of 2022.
In the meantime, we hope you will enjoy the new amenities! Plan your visit here.

Volunteer Schedule for Winter - Spring 2022
Thursday, January 6th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Pomeroy Nature Preserve (Stroudsburg)
We will be removing autumn olive near the meadow (next to Pomeroy’s new parking lot located at 675 Hickory Valley Road). This will involve cutting large autumn olive with a chainsaw, so bring your favorite ear protection if desired. We will have disposable ear plugs available as well.

Saturday, January 22nd | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Kurmes Nature Preserve (Cresco)
We will brave the cold to remove Japanese barberry and other invasive shrubs, continuing to make progress on an area where we have worked in the past.

Tuesday, February 1st | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Glen Run Nature Preserve (Stroudsburg)
We will continue our work of removing winged wahoo (aka burning bush) in the floodplain of this preserve. We will focus on large diameter individuals using a chainsaw. Ear protection is recommended.

Thursday, March 3rd | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Jonas Mountain Nature Preserve (Jonas/Effort)
We’ll be removing autumn olive and other invasive plants from this preserve.

Saturday, April 2nd | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Learn Preserve (Tannersville)
We’ll remove invasive shrubs and vines to make space for native species at this small but beautiful preserve along the Pocono Creek.

Sunday, April 24th | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
