Si View E-News July 2024

We love meeting new families and sharing information about the many exciting parks and programs available in the community. We had an opportunity to do just that at the recent Outdoor Adventure Jamboree at Meadowbrook Farm. On July 20th we'll have a booth at the Downtown Block Party in North Bend for more community conversations and hope to see you there!

Activity options are a plenty this month, with the weekly Thursday farmers market & summer concert series, kids Power of Produce Club starting July 11th, self-guided story walk at Tollgate Farm Park from July 15-21st, and the annual Theater in the Park at Si View on July 20th and 21st. All these events would not be possible without generous support from community partners. We are grateful for contributions received from the Snoqualmie Tribe charitable donations program for the Power of Produce Club, King County Local Services for summer concert series funding, the 4Culture Touring Arts program for supporting Family Fun Day entertainment, and King County Parks for sponsoring the outdoor Movie Night. Additionally, several local businesses and individual donors have contributed towards summer events - thank you!

Last month we asked if you had visited the recently opened Tennant Trailhead Park. This was a pretty evenly split one, with 57% of our readers responding yes. If you have not yet walked or biked the trails, add it to your list of places to visit. This park has a mature tree canopy providing for some shade on hot summer days. Thanks for taking the poll.

Enjoy the peak of the summer season and see you at local parks!

Tollgate Farmhouse Completed

The interior work in the historic farmhouse at Tollgate Farm Park has been completed. The main floor has been beautifully restored for community use. With Mount Si as the backdrop and an open floor plan, it provides an intimate setting for community programs and private rentals such as meetings or celebrations. The air-conditioned space can accommodate small groups.

The Tollgate Farm Park property owned by City of North Bend and managed by Si View Metro Parks, offers an array of recreational experiences to all visitors from scenic walking trails to playground, picnic areas, agricultural programs, and open fields for sports.

Congratulations SVTC Scholarship Recipients

The 2024 Si View Community Foundation Track Scholarship has been awarded to two outstanding students: Ollie Ciabattari and Rowan Stannard. This scholarship program has been established to reward youth who exhibit the characteristics of sportsmanship, leadership, and volunteerism, who at the same time wish to further their own personal development through higher education and training. Ollie has coached SVTC youth each summer since 2022, and Rowan since 2023. Snoqualmie Valley Track Club, the Si View Community Foundation and the Si View team appreciate your volunteerism and commitment to the community, congratulations Ollie and Rowan!
