Dear Artists,

We're thrilled to invite you to participate in our Poster Design Competition for the 2024 Festival of Cinema NYC! This is your chance to have your artwork featured as the official festival poster, showcased on the red carpet and throughout Forest Hills, Queens.

In addition to the honor of being selected as the face of the festival, the winner will receive a beautifully framed poster of their design, an all-access pass to festival events, and various festival swag. Plus, the top 10 entries will have their original artwork displayed at the Filmmaker Lounge throughout the festival.

For your entry to be reviewed, make sure to do the following:

  1. Include the words ‘Festival of Cinema NYC’ prominently in your design.
  2. Include 1 or 2 images of your poster design in the designated fields.
  3. Submit image files in one of the following formats: .jpg, .png, or .ai.
  4. Images must be a high resolution of 300 dpi or higher.
  5. Poster designs must be at a vertical 27:40 aspect ratio.
  6. All artwork must be original work, created specifically for this contest, and may not have been previously published. Previously published work will be disqualified.

Contest Details:

  • No fee to enter.

  • Limit 2 entries per person, per email address. 

  • Contest begins at 12:01am EDT on Saturday, May 11th, 2024. All entries must be received by Tuesday June 4th, 2024 11:59pm EDT in order to be considered. 

  • Winner will be notified by email and announced on our website and social media no later than June 11, 2024. 

  • One (1) poster design will be selected by  the Festival of Cinema, Inc. 

  • Contestants agree that Festival of Cinema, Inc. may publish their design and name(s) and may use both for advertising campaigns and/or marketing materials in perpetuity. 

  • Contestants assign all ownership rights, including all intellectual property rights for the poster, to Festival of Cinema NYC, Inc. 

  • Additionally, Festival of Cinema NYC, Inc. may alter, modify or revise the poster as it sees necessary to achieve the goals of the event. 

  • Festival of Cinema NYC, Inc. reserves the right to not select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.

Prizes:

Top 10 entries will be given the opportunity to have their original poster artwork displayed at the Filmmaker Lounge throughout the 2024 Festival of Cinema NYC. 

Winner of the poster design will also receive a beautifully framed 40” x 27” one sheet poster featuring their design and an all access pass that will let the winner attend all festival screenings, events and functions during the 2024 Festival of Cinema NYC. 

In addition the winner will receive various festival swag. Final Prize may vary and is subject to change. Total prize package has an estimated value of $700 USD. 

All Prizes will be distributed no later than December 31, 2024.

About Festival of Cinema NYC

Festival of Cinema NYC, now entering its 8th year,  is a 10-day international film festival taking place yearly at the Regal UA Midway in Forest Hills. The festival aims to establish a bridge between community, education, and advocacy through film exhibition by engaging the community with the work of upcoming emerging artists.
