After two weeks of competition, the Olympics have come to an end. The U.S. finished with 121 overall medals (46 gold, 37 silver and 38 bronze), its highest total since the 1984 Olympics! Even more incredibly, Maryland truly shined during all 17 days of the games. In fact, it did so well that only 5 nations finished higher than the state of Maryland in gold medals, with 16 gold in Rio. Maryland's 20 total Olympic medals would place the state 11th in the overall medal count. Maybe in 2024 we'll see the
Olympics in our neck of the woods.
