Introducing our new CEO, Erin Ryan

Board President Meridith Adams said, “Erin brings with her 25 years of nonprofit service in a number of areas, including executive leadership, program development, strategic partnerships, advocacy, and fundraising. She is also recognized as a talented communicator, effective team builder, and passionate leader. We’re thrilled to have her join the Shore family.”

Erin’s career has focused on growing organizations that provide deep and ongoing support to people. “I am passionate about building and strengthening community-based approaches where each person’s inherent worth is not only recognized, but celebrated and included,”

Erin said, “The mission of Shore resonates deeply with my values, both professionally and personally, as a parent of a child with a developmental disability.”

At these organizations, she developed programs that provided access to care and resources, navigation of complex systems, advocacy in employment and housing, support to families, and more.

“I believe deeply that in addition to having our basic needs met, we all need a supportive community where we can find belonging and thrive. I am honored to have the opportunity to build on Shore’s rich history and long-standing impact to support our friends, family members, and neighbors with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.”

Erin brings an education background that includes master’s degrees in both social work and public health (University of Illinois Chicago), as well as executive training in nonprofit organizational development (Northwestern University).
