This Sunday, June 2, marks the last monthly breakfast until October. Join us between the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Services (8:45 - 9:55a) for scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, pancakes, doughnuts, fruit, yogurt, coffee, orange juice, and milk -- and the best ingredient of all, fellowship.

We also want to take a moment to thank Ted Edwards and Jason Thomas, who lead this important ministry each month, and the crew of volunteers who make it possible. Not only do they generate donation revenue for St. Andrew's, but during winter months they also cook extra hot food that gets delivered to the New Hope Housing Residential Program Center.

A big thank-you, and we look forward to seeing you Sunday!

Summer Worship Schedule

Starting in July through Labor Day weekend, we will have a single Sunday service at 9:30 a.m. Please note that there will be no Family Service of the Word during this period.

The Wallis Memorial Room

The Wallis Memorial Room of St. Andrew's is now complete, thanks to the handyman skills of Ted Edwards. The old brass plaque -- which hung for decades high on the wall of Room # 8 of the Renehan Center -- and the historical note which accompanies it are now centered below the middle photograph on the right-hand wall of the Library, as one enters.

More than 70 years ago the Vestry of St. Andrew's created a Wallis Memorial Room in the Church. By acquiring the plaque and the historical note, the Library has become our new Wallis Memorial Room. Please stop by and take a look!

St. Anne's Guild

St. Anne's Guild will hold its quarterly luncheon meeting on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Andrew's lounge. It's vacation time and two of our members, Carol Kiranbay and Mary Youman, have recently returned from trips to Italy and France, respectively. They will share pictures and commentary to give us a taste of what they experienced.

All are welcome to join us as we dream of Mediterranean climes; just bring a sandwich to share and, if you are a member, a side or dessert.

Sock Drive

We filled the bucket and then some! Donations from Parishioners provided 253 socks, underwear, tee shirts and washcloths that will be delivered to PathForward by St. Annes. Thank you to all who donated!

Garden of Hope Update

On Thursday (May 23), in the rain, Yorktown High School Students working through their Senior Experience (Sofia, Walker, Daniel, and Patrick) and Ted inspected/repaired the irrigation system, constructed more deer fencing around the garden, and weeded the entire garden. On Saturday (May 25), Girl Scout Troop 60275 (Juliana, Katie, Chaviotle, Elizabeth, Joel, Kathryn, Kevin, Elaine, Brian, Vivian, Dawn, Josie, Hannah, Jessica, Paula), Laura, John, Sofia, Sade, and Ted planted marigolds, trimmed the grape vine, completed the deer fence upgrade, identified/repaired all issues with the irrigation system, watered, and weeded the garden.

The garden is fully planted and we will start harvesting collards, kale, lettuce, and radishes next week.  Our next workday is Saturday, June 1st, 9-11a (Sunday, June 2nd at 11:30am if it is too wet on Saturday).

We are always in need of volunteers, so please consider helping on our Saturday workdays or by watering the garden on Tuesday or Thursday. No experience needed.

If you are interested in volunteering in the St. Andrew's Garden for Hope, you can sign up using the Sign Up Genius at .  We hope to see you in the garden on our workdays and to water on Tuesdays and Thursdays. To water, simply turn on the spigots and let the water run for an hour or so! If you have questions concerning the sign-up, please contact Jeremy, our Parish Administrator.

We Need Drivers! Non Perishable Food Collection on behalf of AFAC

Thanks to your generous donations of non perishable food items, we continue to be able to take a trunk-load of food to AFAC about once a month. We are grateful to Jon Kurrle's help in taking the last donations to AFAC but need volunteers to drive the donations left in the bin by the church office to AFAC now and throughout the summer. Announcements for the Shining the Light and Bulletin must be submitted through our new Google Form and will be accepted until Wednesday at 2pm each week, for consideration in that week's publications.
