In addition, she accepted another one-year term as a director, a role she has embraced since 2014.

The Council on Upper Cervical Care is a professional forum designed to advance expertise in the analysis and care of the upper cervical spine and to be a voice for upper cervical chiropractic in research, education, clinical and policy-making environments.

“We are very proud of Dr. Theodosiss’ accomplishments here at Sherman, but we are not surprised,” said Dean of Clinical Sciences Armand Rossi, D.C. “She has excelled in all her endeavors, and the results show in the classroom.”

Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers in South America

The latest Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers (ACP) program began January 5-6 in Santiago, Chile, with 27 chiropractors from Mexico, Chile, Argentina and other South American countries in attendance. The ACP consists of five modules, including one session to be held during IRAPS 2019; the program concludes in January 2020.

“There is growing interest in the foundational principles of chiropractic across many countries and cultures,” explained Philosophy Department Chair Bill Decken, D.C., ’86, D.Ph.CS. “Sherman College is proud to be able to serve them in this manner.” Decken presented during the program, along with Aram Gomez, D.C., A.C.P., of Mexico.

Successful completion of the 100-hour program leads to membership in the prestigious Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers, and the ICA Council on Philosophical Chiropractic Standards accepts the successful completion of the ACP for 100 hours toward its Diplomate in Philosophical Chiropractic Standards.

The college considers creating additional ACP sessions if there is interest from a group of 20 or more chiropractors in a particular region. Email Angel Radick or visit www.sherman.edu/acp for details.

Past Honor Wall Donors Recognized
Near Gelardi Student Center

Many donors who contributed in the past to Sherman College s Honor Wall have inquired as to what will happen to their honor and memorial tributes. To continue to honor the donors who contributed to the Honor Wall, the college is recreating this particular form of donor recognition in a different format, so all those who had tiles will have them reinstated in a different way.

Brick pavers are being made with the same messages and images that were on past Honor Wall tiles. The pavers will be larger in size (12"x12") than the original tiles (8"x8"), and they will be installed in front of the Gelardi Student Center. We will share more information as this project is completed.

College Mourns the Loss
of Dr. Ernie Landi

Ernest F. Landi, D.C., a longtime Sherman supporter and chiropractic champion, passed away on December 22, 2018. As a lifetime Regent and as a Reach Out And Recruit (ROAR) member, Dr. Landi was dedicated to his profession and committed to its expansion, often counseling prospective students regarding a career in chiropractic and referring many to Sherman College over the course of his career.

DID YOU KNOW: Sherman Provides Chiropractic Care to SMC Athletes

As part of its efforts to enhance community outreach and improve lives with chiropractic care, Sherman College and its neighbor Spartanburg Methodist College (SMC) have a collaborative agreement where student interns and faculty members from Sherman provide chiropractic care for the benefit of SMC student athletes.

Our interns now have 90 active case files for our SMC clinic. This means we see nearly 34% of the student-athlete population at SMC. Compared to the profession’s national utilization rate of roughly 10-12% annually, this is an impressive statistic, particularly since our practice there is completely based on referrals and word of mouth!

We expect further growth as we continue working to make a positive impact on the lives of SMC athletes.
