Drive on over to Good Shepherd this Saturday, May 18, from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, and get your car washed! All funds raised will support the youth on their trips this summer.

Contribute to Confirmation Brunch

Confirmation Day is Sunday, May 19, when 8th graders will publicly affirm their faith at the 11:30 AM Confirmation service. Before the service, the people of Good Shepherd throw a celebratory brunch for the Confirmands and their families. The overflowing table of food is a great expression of the church's love and support! If you are interested in contributing food to the celebration, please sign up through the button below.

Families with toddlers, preschoolers, or elementary school kids, are invited on Sunday, May 19, at 4:00 PM for an afternoon at the Lone Oak Brewing Company. Enjoy time with other parents while the kids enjoy the playground and other fun outdoor activities!

Seniors Ministry Potluck & Program

All seniors (55+) are invited on Tuesday, May 21, for a potluck luncheon at 12:30 PM in Shepherd's Hall. Following the luncheon, enjoy a program with Rev. Christine Dunn, Director of Community Engagement for Lutheran Social Services. Please contact the Seniors Ministry with questions.

Women's Ministry Book Club

All women are invited to Book Club at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28. Explore The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab. Set in France in 1714, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever―and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets. This dazzling adventure plays out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world.

Start off your summer with a Character Brunch for families on Sunday, June 2, at 11:00 AM. Come dressed up as for your favorite character for food, crafts, games, and fun for all! Please sign up to attend through the button below by Monday, May 27.

Walk Together in the Capital Pride Parade

Good Shepherd Friends, let's join the D.C. Metro Synod to walk together in the Capital Pride Parade on Saturday, June 8, in support of our LGBTQIA+ siblings in Christ.

The annual Key’s Baseball Game & Picnic is on Saturday, June 15, at 5:30 PM. Tickets include the all-you-can-eat buffet, unlimited access to the Fun Zone for kids, and fireworks following the game. Summer represents a perfect time to bring two services together and focus on strengthening our connections. Starting on Sunday, June 2, there will be one service at 10:00 AM. Available in-person and online, the service will be a blend of traditional and contemporary services—bringing the best of each. You’ll have the chance to get to know new people, the sanctuary will have a full feeling throughout the summer, and the joy will be overflowing. There will also be fellowship opportunities and special programs (either before or after the service) on multiple occasions.

Good Shepherd was instrumental in the start-up of Gaithersburg HELP nearly six decades ago and the organization remains a key outreach partner. Food and monetary donations from our church continue to bless and sustain HELP’s ministry.
