The church office is closed on Fridays. The regular business hours are Monday - Thursday 9 AM -12 PM and 1 PM -3 PM. Pastor Rosy will be out of the office April 11-17 and again on April 26- May 1st.

If switching to a new role, please email our Office Coordinator, Melina, so she can add you to our schedules. Also, please let the office know in advance if you are scheduled, or future plans have you going away and cannot serve. Thank you.

During the month of April, our Diversion, Equity and Inclusion Task Force is offering resources and hotlines for Sexual Assault Month and more information about the compnay, Safe Gatherings, we use to facilitate our background checks. You will also find this information displayed in Fellowship Hall.

CARD MAKING KITS
We are exploring starting a new ministry group of volunteers to make “Card-Making Kits” that can be delivered to residents of local assisted living and senior living facilities in our community and outside of our community. Ideally, cards are assembled by the residents in a community setting in fellowship with other residents, enabling them to have something beautiful to send as a special greeting to a friend or loved one. If you are interested in this ministry, please contact Pastor or Linda Rowell for more details.

EMPTY NESTER’S TRIP
SAVOY AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM
Date: Saturday, April 29, 2023
Time: Meet at museum 2:30 pm (arrange your own individual carpools)
Tour: 2:30 – 4:30 pm
Dinner: City Cellar Loft in Cartersville 5:00 pm
Savoy Automobile Museum features five exhibition galleries. Four are temporary rotating galleries and the fifth showcases the permanent Savoy Collection. The rotating galleries will feature specially curated exhibits showcasing automobiles surrounding a common theme. The Savoy Collection will display vehicles from Savoy’s special permanent collection. Savoy invites you to stroll through the galleries to appreciate the individual beauty and design of each vehicle while reading about its construction, production, and perhaps spark a memory or two. Come and experience Savoy!

NEXT WEEKEND
SAVE THESE DATES
We will have an “Earth Day” service to honor the work the Caring for Creation committee does and to re-bless our garden on Sunday, April 23rd, immediately following both services. (If weather is bad, we will be in the Fellowship Hall).
Mark your calendars for Blessing of the Animals service on Saturday, April 22nd at 11AM in the church courtyard (weather permitting). Bring your own chair along with your pet(s).
We continue to collect used eyeglasses. A box is located in Fellowship Hall. These will be donated to the Lion's Club.
We also continue to collect oral care waste for recycling. These items are mailed to TerraCycle where they are made into plastic pellets which can be made into outdoor furniture of playground equipment.
We also continue to collect used batteries to take to the appropriate recycling facility. This keeps the toxic materials out of landfills.
Our next meeting will May 10, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom. If you would like serve God in this ministry, please contact the church office or Reba Sumner.

Would you like to represent our church at Synod Assembly? We are searching for one male member and a youth who would like to attend Synod Assembly on June 2-4, 2023 in Chattanooga, TN. The church will pay for all expenses for your stay and travel. Please contact either Pastor Rosy or Mel in the church office if you'd like to attend.

Join for the continuation of an 8 week study of the Gospel of John. We'll be exploring the poetic and metaphorical expressions of Jesus' life and ministry.

Thursday Morning Bible Study - 10 AM-Led by Pastor Rosy
Our next study after Easter (we will not meet on April 6 or 13th or 27th),
We will readi together the book called: “Honoring Our Neighbor’s Faith”. You can either purchase a used book from Amazon or order the revised version on Augsburg’s Fortress website. Book cost is $13.99. We will be dialoging about the similarities and differences of different Christian denominations and different faiths and comparing that with Lutheranism. Open to all! We will also be offering a livestream version of this study on Facebook at glscwoodstock. Come join us, wherever you are!

THEOLOGY ON TAP-Now on Thursday!

- MUST Ministries-Cherokee $2,000.00
- Cherokee County Violence Center $2,000.00
- Cherokee County Homeless Veterans Program $2,000.00
These funds were made possible through members generous donations to benevolence programs.
