Welcome to Grace at Home. Below are worship resources to sustain and strengthen our faith. Click on the pictures below to access the video content. Scriptures and prayers are located below the links. Due to the rise in COVID-19 positivity rates, Grace Community Christian Church will only share in worship online. The building will not be open for in person worship. We will only offer virtual worship in the coming weeks, and look forward to gathering again in person when it is safe to do so.

Advent 2020
Most residents of the United States and Canada “fell back” to standard time after six months of Daylight Saving time at the beginning of November. At the end of November, Christians across the United States and Canada, begin a new church year that starts with the season of Advent. The Christian year begins with a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the coming of Jesus Christ in our celebration of his birth at Christmas.

The poet George Herbert once wrote: “He that believes in hope dances without music.” Today we light the candle of hope. To hope in God’s grace is to move to a rhythm that other people may not hear. We listen for the voice of angels in the wind. We stretch to see the first light of a new day on the horizon. We long for a new birth of grace in every human heart. We wait. We listen. We hope.

Offering prayer
In eager anticipation of your coming among us once more, God of grace, we thank you for this opportunity to be counted as AWAKE, ALERT, ADORING believers. Wake us up from the slumber of pandemic pjs and anxious news reports. Cue us into this season. Empower us to lives of heads-up hospitality, welcoming the least, the lost, the lonely, that we might see you in our midst, even as servants staying alert for the return of their master. Amen.

Opening Prayer

God of all time, we thank you for this particular time. Challenging as it may be, with threats around us and worries within, we plant our minds and steady our hearts to begin a new time of Advent with you. In this worship hour, help us channel our energies to anticipate and to actively wait, for Jesus, the Coming One. We pray with thanksgiving, offering our best to you, Amen.

Prayer of Hope

Generous God, you have already given us all that we need. Help us trust your continued care, that we may share with
others the abundance of your blessings.
Strengthen us for service, and remind us of the great joy that awaits those who answer your call.

In the midst of our doubts and our insecurities we are reminded that you are never shaken. Your faithfulness reaches to the ends of the earth. We watch and wait expecting new light to shine as the season of joy approaches. You are our rock and our refuge, an ever present help in trouble. Come down, come in, walk with us so that we trust in you and not be shaken. We wait in hope attentive to all the signs of Christ’s coming. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Scripture (NIV)
1 Corinthians 1:3-9
3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that has been given you in Christ Jesus, 5 for in every way you have been enriched in him, in speech and knowledge of every kind. 6 just as the testimony of Christ has been strengthened among you 7 so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ. 8 He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful; by him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
