Shaker Heights Students Celebrate the Chinese New Year

Students from Woodbury, the Middle School and the High School Mandarin classes, as well as some IB Diploma Programme and Asian Culture Club students, gathered together on Friday for a day of celebration to ring in the Chinese New Year and celebrate the Year of the Rabbit.

The day included a variety of performances, both by special guests and students, a countdown to the new year (in Mandarin, of course), a viewing of the Chinese Chunwan GALA Show, a delicious lunch from Sun Luck Garden (supported by the Shaker Schools Foundation) and traditional Chinese games and activities.

It was a great way to immerse students in a cultural celebration and connect students across buildings and grades. Happy New Year!
