From 2016 to 2017
Like many of you, we are among the fortunate who are able to travel this time of the year. As you read this message, I will be in
San Diego most likely at the Zoo with our 3 year old granddaughter, Dassi. Then we head up to Eugene, OR to visit with our Banjo playing daughter, Liat. With this in mind, no current news will be included in this condensed Shabbat Message* since I wrote it prior to our departure and queued it into my system for today's delivery. I will include a brief rehash of 2016 as I wish all of you a healthy and prosperous 2017. Hope you enjoy this year in review:

Our Future
As we are on the brink of a New Year that we hoped would have looked different. Reality is where we live (for most of us) and it is our attitudes and actions that will determine our destiny. Though HOPE was the theme of our last president, we still must continue this theme since we all know, Man Plans and God Laughs. Who knows what the future will hold but either way life is truly precious, short and we must make the best of it.
Wishing you and your families a
Sweet Shabbat Shalom and
a Peaceful Healthy Happy 2017.

* The events of the week encouraged me to reconnect to a computer while on vacation to update this week's message with the unexpected news. First, of the shocking deaths of George Michael, Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds. Even though Debbie was 84, her death seems the most shocking as seeing her daughter die was just too much for her to handle. But the biggest news was the UN vote and Kerry's speech. As a diehard democrat, I am very disappointed with my party and the words and actions they are taking against our Jewish Homeland. For 19 years between 1948 till 1967 there were no settlements in our tiny county but peace still evaded us...oh yeah, plus most Arab counties still attacked us. I don't support settlements but they are NOT the obstacle. Here is a great article explaining our history and why our current administration was wrong with their "parting gift"
