Kabbalat Shabbat: 6:30 PM Candle Lighting: 8:14 PM

SHABBAT SHALOM

DAY 266

We continue to hope and pray for the release of the hostages.

They are front and center in our minds.

May God protect them from further harm.

May God shield the soldiers of the IDF so that they too,

can return back to their loved ones, in safety and wholeness.

AMEN!

PARASHA SHEET

Sponsored by Jonathan Funk in memory of his beloved parents, Rabbi Julius and Pearl Funk, z"l and to commemorate the 18th yahrzeit of Rabbi Funk z"l.

PARASHA TALK

Welcome to the Summer Parashas (for Camp Ramah in the Berkshires). Moses dispatches the spies to reconnoiter the land of Canaan. The spies come back and report on their visit - but the report demoralizes the people so much that they want to return to Egypt. Is Moses responsible ultimately for this? Moses chose the spies - the wrong people in leadership have devastating consequences. And is this a worse catastrophe than the Golden Calf? We go there. Shabbat Shalom. This is Day 263. Bring them home!

MORNING MINYAN NEEDS SOME SUPPORT!

On-line or In-person

We're grateful to our minyan "regulars" but even they sometimes can't be here. We want to be sure we have a morning minyan every day; we know those saying kaddish are especially appreciative. Morning services are egalitarian.

Using "SIGNUP GENIUS" Please sign up for an available slot; these slots are the number Sheldon anticpates will be needed to have a minyan. (If you're a "regular" please check with Sheldon to confirm whether he included you in his count.")

The dates listed are those that we know some of our "regulars" will not be present. All are welcome to join us for services any day, not just those listed. And you do not have to sign up to attend.

And of course, please consider making morning and/or evening minyan part of your normal routine!

SISTERHOOD

SCREAMS BEFORE SILENCE

Never-before-heard eyewitness accounts from released hostages, survivors, and first responders.

During the October 7 attacks on Israeli towns and at the Nova Music Festival, women and girls were raped, assaulted, and mutilated. Released hostages have revealed that Israeli captives in Gaza have also been sexually assaulted.

Despite the indisputable evidence, these atrocities have received little scrutiny from human rights groups and international organizations. Many leading figures in politics, academia, and media have attempted to minimize or even deny that they occurred. In Screams Before Silence, a 60-minute, presenter-led documentary film, Sheryl Sandberg, former COO of Meta and founder of LeanIn.org, interviews multiple eyewitnesses, released hostages, first responders, medical and forensic experts, and survivors of the Hamas massacres.
