Last Friday, we completed legislative day 16 of 40. Which means by the end of this week, we will be halfway finished with this years session!
Last week, I introduced
Senate Bill 144
,
known as the Georgia Lottery for Veterans Act. This legislation would provide that the GA Lotto put in place one or more games where revenue gained, would be designated for the benefit of our Georgia Veterans. The bill has been assigned to the Senate Higher Education Committee and I will keep you posted on how we proceed with this measure in the days to come.
As we continue to review legislation, meeting schedules and days under the Gold Dome are becoming more hectic. Legislators are working tirelessly to ensure their bills make the Crossover Day deadline, which is set earlier this year than past sessions.
