English District Mission

Shepherd of the Canyon Lutheran Church has a more permanent home! After disappointment and some struggle God has provided a location for the new congregation to call home. Located at 6517 S Kings Ranch Road, Unit 13 in Gold Canyon, AZ, members of the planting team and friends are renovating the same. Worship was held August 6th for the first time in their planned Bible study room while the main worship area is still being prepared. Rev. Derek Mathers, Assistant to the Bishop and Mission Executive, was honoured to be with them removing walls and studs. The hope is to dedicate the space at a service in September.

LCEF KFund Grants

The Lutheran Church Extension Fund announced that 24 ministries of the LCMS have been awarded KFund grants for this fiscal year. English District church St. John’s Lutheran Church in Clarksburg, WV received one of these $10,000.00 grants to expand the work of Christ on behalf of families.

All Saints Campus Ministry

Effective Outreach

What are the most effective ways for All Saints Campus Ministry to share the Gospel with college students? Rev. Klemet I. Preus has written a book called What They Need to Hear: Sharing Christ With Family and Friends (CPH, 2013). This book is filled with effective ideas for campus ministry. These practical ideas work well with the student meals and social events that campus ministry holds for students.
