In Our Churches

Holy Trinity, Lakeview, MI

Many volunteers made the annual Mexican dinner at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church a great success.

Martin Luther Chapel, Pennsauken, NJ

Martin Luther Chapel served as the host congregation for the local LWML zone rally. The rally theme was “Jesus is the Answer.” Members of the LWML enjoyed a day of worship, food, and fellowship.

Prince of Peace, Mesquite, NV

Member Jim Lennon (right) serves the local community as a citizen volunteer for our Mesquite Police Department. He and other volunteers do administrative tasks which allows police officers to spend more time in their law enforcement and crime deterrent duties.

St. John the Divine, Chicago, IL

St. John the Divine Ev. Lutheran Church, led by Rev. Ike Nicholson, celebrated four adult confirmations on Sunday.

Shepherd of the Pines, Payson, AZ

The first Friday of the month Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran Church offers the community a hearty breakfast of omelets, biscuits and gravy, sausage and eggs, hash browns, rolls, fruit, cookies, and a beverage. This breakfast gives members the opportunity to visit with the community and share God’s Word. Anyone who attends has the chance to win a door prize.

This month Rev. Steven Resner, Arizona North Circuit Visitor, gave the blessing over the food.

Peace, Palm Desert, CA

All of the ladies at Peace Lutheran Church were given roses and treats on Mother's Day to honor them as precious creations and gifts from God. Rev. James Bowes' sermon focused on Mary, the mother of our Lord.

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom,

and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

Proverbs 31:25-26

In Our Schools

Advent, Zionsville, IN

Spring Recitation Day at Advent Lutheran School was a success! They enjoyed listening to each students’ piece, and even a few dads took part in the recital!

Recitation day provides students with a chance to memorize something longer and more complicated than their weekly memory work. They gain confidence in their public speaking skills while learning about language and poetry and rhythm. And most of all, they put good, true and beautiful words into their minds and hearts.

Redeemer, Verona, PA

At Bible time this week, preschool -2nd grade students learned about the Ascension of Jesus and made a craft that they could take home to share the story with their families. When they pull the string through the cup, Jesus ascends!

The parents celebrated the teachers at Redeemer Lutheran School during last week's Teacher Appreciation Days. Teachers were well fed and surprised with many gifts and encouraging words.
