September is Here!

From our President:

Stamford Cradle to Career commemorates Hispanic Heritage Month. This distinguished time recognizes the contributions of Hispanic Americans to our nation. This observance takes place from Sept. 15th – Oct. 15th and is themed "Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation." For more information and resources to share with your network please visit the following link:

Hispanic Heritage Month.

As students and families prepare themselves for the 2022- 2023 School Year, SC2C would like to provide the community with the most update information. We have included our Back-to-School Resource Link that provides timely information regarding bussing, school schedules, contact information and much more.

We are very excited to launch an events calendar on our website. We are designing this as a community-wide tool to be utilized by the Stamford Public Schools, the City of Stamford, as well as any other local- family serving organization. We need your help in making this calendar serve as a central location for families to know about all the exciting and informative events happening in Stamford. If your organization has any upcoming events, please email the details, related flier and registration information to Stamfordcradletocareer@gmail.com.

Lastly, StriveTogether will host their 2022 Annual Convening in Chicago later this month. Stamford Cradle to Career is extremely honored to have Mayor Caroline Simmons as a panelist at this national convention. There, she will participate on panel entitled: Mayoral Champions of Racial Equity, Civic Engagement and Civic Infrastructure. We will share soon about how you can watch the session via livestream. Information about the convening is here. This support helps us to continue our work of collective impact and guides our efforts in civic engagement and policy change.

Best,

Edith Presley

Community Partner Spotlight: Sparkler

"Our community has partnered with the Sparkler App since 2019. We currently support seven early childcare programs and two-family childcare programs. In addition, we work closely with Stamford Public Schools to encourage Sparkler as a part of kindergarten registration and enrollment.

We have begun broad outreach in Stamford about the availability and value of Sparkler through various channels, including through building out a dedicated Sparkler page on our website, the Ferguson Library, social media, at local events such as our Stamford Early Childhood Fair and Multi-Cultural Day, and through direct sharing through our partner network and our parent email and What’s App groups.

This partnership has helped us to leverage the investment in developmental screening in the Stamford community and support growing awareness and expansion of the use of Sparkler in Stamford to serve more children and their families."
