FROM THE DEACONS

The Deacons are thrilled to hear about the Search Committee's nomination of Will Seals as our settled pastor. Please join us for a special business meeting on September 15th at 11:15 in Fellowship Hall, to ratify the nomination of Will Seals as pastor of Trinity Church. We are also excited to see plans for our youth this fall and look forward to bringing back some more formal faith formation education.

We want to invite our entire congregation to join us as we begin working with a consultant who specializes in revitalization of churches! He is holding his first meeting with us on September 7th at 9 am. Please join us as we work together to grow our church and share God's love with our communities!

Lastly, we want to encourage you to find your passion at Trinity and share your talents- reach out to any Deacon to share your ideas, thoughts or skills and interest with all of us!

FROM THE WORSHIP TEAM

Sept 22nd - Hymn Sing

Sept 29th - Worship in the Park

Meet at Ellsworth-McAfee Park for worship at 10am. Bring a breakfast item to share.

FROM THE MUSIC DIRECTOR

Hello Trinity Church Community!

I hope you have enjoyed the variety of weekly services this Summer. I am very proud of everyone who helped with making them happen. No matter what role you played, from setting up chairs & tables to giving a full sermon, your efforts have not gone unnoticed and are extremely appreciated. That being said…our service in the world continues. September brings new opportunities to connect with God, his creation, and his message of Love.

Here is a quick look at what music things are happening at Trinity in September:

  • September 1st - weekly gatherings return to the Sanctuary for a Communion-themed service
  • September 8th - Faith Formations (formally known as Christian Education) resumes monthly child-friendly services every 2nd Sunday of the Month and will include items focused on youth engagement and experience.
  • Includes a “Music & Movement” time after the service with me!
  • September 15th - Tom D. & Laurie H. are planning to present a wonderful HandBell duet for Prelude.
  • September 22nd - Informal Hymn Sing Service to balance the busyness of AppleFest Weekend
  • Includes an organ/piano duet from Pam Jones and myself.
  • September 29th - Outside service at Ellsworth-McAfee Park pavilion.
  • Post-Service: Social Outing to Groton Hill Music Center for an Organ Concert. Attendees should meet in the church parking lot at 1:00pm to carpool or follow. If you have not reserved or paid for your ticket with Rita in the office, please do so as soon as possible. All are welcome!

The Song of the Month I have chosen for September is “No Other Name” by Robert Gay. It is a powerful short Praise that I know you all will love. You can listen to it HERE. And for a Sung Benediction, we will be using the Caribbean tune, “Halle, Halle, Halle” (#41 from the Chalice Hymnal). Many of you might remember the Voice Choir singing this full tune a while back. You can listen to it HERE if you need a refresher.

I am very excited for all of the Trinity music ensembles to resume rehearsals this month. Below are the expected rehearsal times for each group.

  • (Sundays) Sept 1st - Adult Voice Choir begins weekly rehearsals from 11:30-12:30 in the 2nd Floor Parlor Room.
  • (Wednesdays) September 4th - Hand Bell Choir begins weekly rehearsals from 7:00-8:00 in the 2nd Floor Parlor Room.
  • (Thursdays) Sept 12th - Worship Band begins rehearsals every other week from 7:00-8:00 in Sanctuary

Returning members should receive an email with information about the first few weeks and details for anticipated performances. This is the perfect time for anyone to “test the waters” with being a part of one or more of these groups. Beginners are always welcome and music knowledge is not required. Even though we rehearse in order to fix our mistakes and to strive for perfection, being “perfect” is not the goal. What we share is a gift and is always received with a gracious heart. The music ensembles operate as a support network to share our love of music and God with each other and our community. Please reach out to Tom Danforth (Bells) or myself (Choir & Worship Band) if you are interested and would like to be included in future communications for these groups or have any questions about expectations.

I hope everyone has a great start to the Fall season, and may each day brings you closer to God.

Until We Meet Again,

Scott Arnold (he/him)

Music Director of

Trinity Church of Northborough

FAITH FORMATIONS

The Faith Formations Committee (formerly known as the Christian Education Committee) would like to welcome all children and youth to Trinity Church!

Starting on Sunday, September 8th and continuing every second Sunday of the month, there will be a "Children's Church" program, which includes a children's story in the sanctuary during the worship service, followed by a 10 -15 minute faith-based lesson which will take place in the 2nd floor classroom, across from the bathrooms.

The children who want to participate will leave the sanctuary with Faith Formations leaders during this time, and will return to their parents/guardians in the sanctuary before the end of the worship service. The Children's Story and lesson theme for September 8th, is on being kind to yourself and others as a child of God. We hope to see lots of children and youth this coming Sunday!

SUPPORT TRINITY

Give to Trinity Church

“Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands—all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.” – Luke 6:38, Good News translation

Taking our cue from Jesus, looking to God as our Source and Supply for all our needs, let us give to Trinity Church with a cheerful and generous heart, knowing God’s storehouse is always overflowing with abundance – an abundance which can never be diminished or run dry.

Thank you for sharing your time, talent, and treasure with Trinity Church!

If you're paying by check, please make checks payable to Trinity Church. Our mailing address is 23 Main St, Northborough, MA 01532.

You can also use “bill pay” and have your bank mail a check to us on a regular schedule set up by you, at no cost. Or give online at www.trinitynorthborough.org/donate
