NEWS FROM FLINT PUBLIC LIBRARY

Library Hours & Holiday Closings

Flint Public Library's normal hours will resume as of Tuesday, September 3rd.

Flint Public Library will be CLOSED on Sunday, September 1st and Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day. Our normal hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, September 3rd.

Library Card Sign-Up Month

Celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month this September with Flint Public Library and the American Library Association! We're inviting everyone to discover the incredible resources and opportunities available at your local library by signing up for a library card.

This year, we’re thrilled to have Optimus Prime from the TRANSFORMERS as our special ambassador, highlighting that there's more than meets the eye at Flint Public Library. Whether you're looking to enhance your skills, find valuable information, or connect with fellow avid readers, a library card unlocks a world of possibilities.

Today’s libraries are vibrant community centers offering much more than just books. At Flint Public Library, you'll find diverse programs, book clubs, storytimes, a unique collection of items to borrow in our Library of Things, museum and park passes, and more!

Don’t miss out! Visit Flint Public Library this September to sign up for a library card and discover all that your library has to offer.

Banned Books Week

"Freed Between the Lines!"

Banned Books Week: Sept. 22-28

The theme for Banned Books Week 2024 (September 22-28) is "Freed Between the Lines." We can find freedom in the pages of a book — but book bans and censorship threaten that freedom, along with many other rights and institutions. During Banned Books Week 2024 and beyond, let’s share our love of the right to read and the freedom found in books.

Let’s be Freed Between the Lines!

Teen Program Survey

Flint Public Library is seeking the help of teens ages 13-18 for feedback on our teen programming and activities. We want to hear from YOU; what library-sponsored programs and activities would you be interested in attending? Is there a program, activity, club, or support group that you would like to see offered for teens at the library? What would be the best day and time of the week to offer a program so that you and your friends could attend? Let us know!
