MEET MARK FASOLINO
In 2004, Mark started at ARP Materials from the ground up, working part-time in the warehouse while attending Buffalo State College.

Now, 15 years later, Mark's expansive knowledge of our warehousing, customer service, logistics, operations and purchasing departments allows ARP to make process improvements to ensure the needs of our customers are met. Mark explains, "I take pride in knowing many facets of the organization and in understanding how each department needs one another to create an efficient team."
Mark Fasolino and his son, Luca
During a recent interview with Mark, he was excited to say, “The source of gratification I receive from my job is knowing that I help put customers' minds at ease by assisting them with their inventory levels and providing on-time delivery. It is extremely important to me to know that customers are confident in ARP Materials and feel good about continuing to working with us.”

Mark is married to his wife, Megan, and they have 3 children: Chase, Juliet and Luca. Mark enjoys cycling, coaching his kids' baseball/softball teams and is a huge movie buff! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARK!

PRODUCT OF THE MONTH
Chlorinated Polyethylene is made by adding chlorine gas to HDPE (High Density Polyethylene). Adding chlorine to HDPE (now called CPE) gives this resin impact resistance, chemical and heat resistance, ozone resistance, great weatherability, excellent low temperature properties and resistance to ignition. It can easily be added to many other polymers and rubbers when creating a product. Such as EPDM, CSM, NBR PVC, PE, EVA, etc.

For the rubber industry, common applications that include CPE are wire & cable jackets , siding, hoses, window profiles, decks & fences and much more.

As a long-time supplier to ARP Materials, Kel iren ® Chemical specializes in the research, development and production of chlorinated polymers such as CPE.

Just a few CPE grades we supply from Kel iren ® Chemical include :

  • PVC Impact-Modified
  • Flame Retardant
  • Rubber Grades
  • Low/High Mooney
  • High Strength
  • Radiation Grades
  • High Chlorine

Contact us today for a sample!

GREAT NEWS: The first notice of product exclusions from Section 301 Tariffs have been announced. CPE is included in this list. Please contact your sales representative for more information.
About our vendor:
Kel iren ® Chemical is the largest producing Chlorinated Polyethylene manufacturer worldwide. They were established in 1999 and now, with two factories, their annual CPE production reaches 150,000 tons. They are a supplier of thermoset, thermoplastic and impact modifier grades of CPE, while also producing TAIC and TAC.
INDUSTRY TRENDS & UPDATES
Chemical Prices
Acrylonitrile: $1,652.62/US Ton - FOB US Por t (contract)
It is an important  monomer  for the manufacture of useful  plastics  such as  polyacrylonitrile . Acrylonitrile is used principally as a  monomer  to prepare polymers such as  styrene-acrylonitrile  (SAN),  acrylonitrile butadiene styrene  (ABS),  acrylonitrile styrene acrylate  (ASA), and other  synthetic rubbers  such as  acrylonitrile butadiene  (NBR).

Butadiene: $886.88/US Ton - FOB US Port (contract)
A lso known as 1, 3-butadiene, Butadiene is a colorless, non-corrosive gas that condenses to a liquid. Butadiene is a by-product of ethylene and propylene production. This product is used in the production of Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) and Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR).

Styrene: $1,094.51/US Ton - FOB US Port (contract)
Styrene plays an important role in chemical production to make latex, synthetic rubber, and other polystyrene resins. Styrene occurs naturally in small quantities in some plants and foods (cinnamon, coffee beans, and peanuts) and is also found in  coal tar . This product is used in the production of Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE).
