Meijer Simply Give Program

Meijer is sponsoring the Simply Give Program Sunday, July 3, 2022 - Saturday October 1, 2022. On 9/10, for every $10 Simply Give card your purchase, Meijer will donate a contribution of an additional $20, bringing the total of your donation to $30. During any other day during the campaign, Meijer will be adding an additional $10 making your donation equal $20.

School Lunches

Some of the schools are not offering free lunch. We will be continuing the lunch program during the school year. Any food donations for this program will be truly awesome. Some ideas are: Spaghetti-O’s, Spaghetti with meatballs, Beef Ravioli, snacks (chips, Rice Krispie treats, etc.), cereal, and microwaveable meals.

Pantry News

Food drives and donations are more important now than ever. The food supplement program was cut by 42%. This has been a huge impact on our supply. Couple that with inflation, recession, and food shortages, and the food drives and donations become even more of a priority.

To give you an idea of how much food is going out of the pantry monthly: A Mac truck with 18 wheels and a semi-trailer can carry up to 23 tons in the trailer. That is 46,000 pounds of food. We distribute monthly 48,000 pounds of food. That is 1 Ton (2,000 pounds) more food than fits in that semi.

We are fast approaching that time of year when the Holidays come. Thanksgiving is around the corner and then Christmas. Please, keep that in mind when you see a good sale or are deciding what non-profit you want to give your end of year donation to.

With your support we are Mission Possible BY THE COMMUNITY, FOR THE COMMUNITY.

Pet Pantry

Dog daze of summer are fading fast to fall furry friend days. Check out our Chewy account for specific needs for our four-legged friends. Anything shipped from Amazon or Chewy is very appreciated and easy for you too. We are always in need of wet cat food.

With fall underway, that means Bulldog Football. Make a donation on behalf of your favorite Brighton High school varsity player. You can do this by using their number. For example, my Chewy donation was on behalf of #50. If we get a good turnout, we will show results and perhaps do some prizes at the end of season.

Chez Vonz News

School clothes and backpacks filled with school supplies have been flying out the door. We are so happy to be able to help so many children in our community. All possible because of you.

We are accepting fall and winter clothes as of now. If you are still cleaning out your children’s closet, please don’t throw away their shoes, our children need them. As a reminder, we cannot accept stuffed animals.

Halloween Costumes will be available the end of September through October. Watch next month’s newsletter for days and times.

We appreciate all you do. Thank you so much for supporting our Clothing Ministry. You are the backbone of this ministry.
