A True Celebration of Leadership, Vision, and Dedication.
The community gathered in August to celebrate Norma Honeycutt's quarter-century milestone as the executive director for Partners In Learning.
|
|
Over 100 Partners In Learning staff, donors, family, and community members gathered Thursday, Aug. 24, for a surprise party to celebrate Executive Director Norma Honeycutt’s 25 years of service. Board members Celia Jarrett and Bill Wagoner announced the naming of the facility’s Outdoor Adventure Forest as “Norma’s Way” in her honor. Plans were revealed for its entrance to be marked with a natural arbor, bench seating, and gardens. This arbor will welcome children and families onto the handicap-accessible pathway that will wind around the Adventure Forest.
Honeycutt’s vision has always been for children to experience nature as a way to learn, grow, and heal. This gift brought Honeycutt to tears as she saw her vision unfolding.

Your generosity has made it possible for us to create Rowan County's only Early Learning and Clinical Services facility that will provide children and families with the resources they need to succeed.
The Partners In Learning at The Woods Center will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, a STEM lab, a sensory exploration and learning room, an outdoor learning environment, an Autism Clinic, a mental health clinic, parent-child training room, and a large community space for gatherings. It will also have dedicated spaces for our students to receive occupational therapy, speech therapy, developmental therapy, and physical therapy. Each classroom and designated therapy room will have observational spaces for professionals and college students around NC to come study, observe, and learn from our evidenced-based curriculums and programming.
We are grateful for the many ways that our community has supported this campaign. Some of you donated money, while others volunteered your time and expertise. We also appreciate the businesses and organizations that made in-kind donations.
All the support has made a real difference in the lives of our students and families. We are excited to see what they will accomplish in this new learning environment.
We would like to invite you to join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 11th @ 6:30pm. This is a chance to celebrate our community's commitment to education and to see the new Partners In Learning Center for yourself.

We are so proud of Heather's leadership, especially with the Building Brighter Futures Apprenticeship Program!
|
"Heather Fidler is the Director of Partners in Learning at Catawba, a child care center in Salisbury, NC that recently signed on to the BBF initiative. Heather offers a unique perspective as both a center director and a parent of an apprentice. Her daughter, Haileigh, is an early childhood apprentice at Partners in Learning! Heather shared with us, how beneficial apprenticeship and the BBF initiative has been, and will be, to PIL and her family."

We are growing our service outreach!
|
|
We are thrilled to announce the newest additions to our clinical team, Sarah Bowman and Suzanne Koontz. With the growing need for clinical services in our community, we are expanding our team to ensure that we can continue to provide the highest level of care to our clients.
Sarah brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Autism Clinic. We are confident that her skills and dedication will greatly benefit those who seek our services.
Suzanne has been with Partners In Learning for over 14 years as one of our early intervention developmental therapists in our Community-Based Rehabilitative Services (CBRS) program. She has worked in multiple counties servicing children in their homes, childcare centers, or other natural environments providing 1:1 play-based therapy every week. We are excited to have Suzanne join us in her new role and confident that her leadership will further enhance our ability to meet the growing demand for referral and support services in our community.
At Partners In Learning, we remain committed to providing compassionate and effective educational and clinical care to our community. We are dedicated to continuously expanding our team and services to meet the evolving needs of those we serve. We are excited to welcome both of these women to our dedicated team of professionals!

Aleshya Spruill, Director of Partners In Learning's Novant Early Learning Center is part of the Chamber's Leadership Rowan Class #31.
Aleshya shares her thoughts on joining this year's Leadership Rowan Class.
"I was encouraged by alumni Norma and Heather to apply to Leadership Rowan. As with any new adventure, I was nervous because I did not know what this committee would bring. After spending two days with my newfound friends/teammates, I quickly realized that being a part of a diverse group of people who are leaders in their jobs and the community was something I wanted my name attached to. I am excited to embrace this opportunity enthusiastically as I learn and grow professionally and personally."
