NEEDHAM COMMUNITY COUNCIL NEWS
Join us September 8-17
Welcoming Week is a chance to bring together our Needham neighbors of all backgrounds and build stronger connections. The Council is excited to participate in the event again not only for what we can share with newcomers to Needham but also for what we can learn about ourselves in the process.

The Council will sponsor a community-wide coloring contest for a second year to celebrate Welcoming Week. Children are asked to draw a picture to answer the question: "when I want to make someone feel welcome I......"

See the full coloring contest rules in the link below and drop off your entry to the Council by September 30!

Thank you to Learning Express Needham for their partnership on this fun contest!
Opening Doors: Announcing the Council Annual Report
What a year of hope and strength. When we pause to reflect on the past year one image rings true - opening doors.

Our doors were open to aging adults, new families and individuals from the Ukraine, open to new English language learners, technology users, and residents looking for support with medical equipment and transportation.

Neighbors helping neighbors has been a constant part of our mission since the founding of the Council over 90 years ago. On behalf of the staff, volunteers, and customers we serve, thank you.
August:
By the Numbers

Although summer sunsets this month, the Council stayed busy with food pantry visitors, shoppers, and more and more Lyft riders.

We offered another Saturday food distribution day in the food pantry and saw a steady increase in the number of visits. Community members may always check the current food pantry wish list of items below:
