Recently the San Diego Veteran's Coalition (www.sdvetscoalition.org) launched the Transition & Integration Project (TIP), aimed at addressing the reintegration challenges faced by returning military personnel, veterans, guard/reserves, and their spouses in San Diego. By integrating services, coordinating activities, and leveraging resources among member organization, the TIP will help close gaps and enhance the transition experience.

TIP activities for September are as follows -

 

a. Community Reintegration Training: Learning about the community is essential to your successful reintegration which is why through several of our member veteran service organizations we are offering community reintegration training at the below off-base locations to help military personnel and their families successfully reintegrate into civilian communities:

 

09/07 - REBOOT Your Life & Career Seminar - Livewell MVRC, San Diego, CA 8:00 am - 4:00 pm:

b. Personal Transition Management and Support: The www.MYTT365.online app is designed aid individuals in effectively managing their personal transition, ensuring a seamless adjustment to civilian life. MYTT365 also connects participants to Civilian Transition Assistance Advisors (TAA) who are available at no cost to all military personnel and their families through the platform. Other features include a Veteran-Friendly Employer directory to help you find your next employer.

 

c. Warm Hand-Off to the Community: Through a national partnership with www.ETSSponsorship.org, SDVC provides one-to-one sponsorship for transitioning military personnel. This is done by connecting them directly to participating sponsors in their city of choice through the ONWARDOPS program. As the ONWARDOPS Regional Community Integration Coordinator (CIC), SDVC helps ensure a seamless transition process by facilitating a warm hand-off from the Department of Defense to the San Diego Community. This guarantees that veterans receive the necessary support and guidance as they navigate their post-military journey. We utilize the OnwardOps.org national tracking and referral system to make this process as smooth as possible. Active duty members can enroll in OnwardOps at www.onwardops.org .

The Center for Military and Veterans Reintegration (CMVR) is a national initiative to close transition and reintegration gaps through localized integrated community-based veteran service providers commonly known as the 'Sea of Good Will." Members of the CMVR network work collaboratively to support Transitioning Military, Veterans, Guard, Reserves, and their families following the guidelines of the collective impact model.
