This Month: Our September Meeting

Staying Resourceful and Resilient Amid Turbulence

September 24, 7 pm

Many PFLAG members are feeling anxiety given these stressful and uncertain times. With leadership coach, facilitator, and yoga teacher Laura Peck, we will share ideas for practices that will help keep us grounded and calm as we support and care for ourselves and others. Laura has over 30 years of experience working with leaders committed to social justice and systemic change.

After the program, we will hold space for confidential sharing and support. We welcome you at our events with no judgment and lots of love.

Meetings are held from 7-9 PM in the Campbell Room at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 2727 College Avenue in Berkeley (look for the PFLAG banner). Masks are optional. We ask that you not attend if you are feeling unwell or if you've been in contact with anyone who is unwell. Between meetings, our board is still here to connect with you one-on-one. Email pflagoeb@gmail.com or leave us a voicemail at 510-562-7692 and we will call you back.

Oakland Pride Parade

Sunday, September 8, 11 am (marchers line up at 10:15 am)

You can still march with us or cheer us on from the sidelines! We will have a PFLAG Oakland-East Bay contingent in the Oakland Pride Parade and we invite you to join us! We will meet in Downtown Oakland at 10:15 am; the Parade officially starts at 11 am. This is a fun low-key event, just four blocks long, where we share our LGBTQ+ pride with the local community, and it's very family friendly.

A Pride Festival follows the parade; admission to the Festival ranges from free (ages 12 & under) to $20 (adults). Learn more: Parade; Festival.

Pledge to be a PFLAG Voter

And then check out the Love Votes page on our website where you’ll find tools and resources to help folks register to vote, educational tools like slide decks and flyers with voting rights info for all 50 states, PFLAG Academy online trainings focused on getting out the vote, and more resources to take action.
