MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

As the days become shorter and the vibrant colors of September foliage begin to reveal themselves, it's my distinct pleasure to extend to each of you a warm welcome to this month's newsletter. It's hard to believe that we're already transitioning from summer to fall, but as the seasons change, so too does our focus on upcoming events and initiatives. Here’s what’s coming up in your association:

1. 2023 BOMA/GLA Annual Toy Drive: This year, the giving begins before the holidays even begin! It's time for our annual Toy Drive, and I encourage each of you to do everything you can to make it the most successful one yet. Let's put smiles on as many kids' faces as we can. Registration is now open, and the drive collection begins on November 6th. Sign up today!

2. Building Skills Partnership (BSP): We are proud to launch our new partnership with Building Skills Partnership! While we have been involved in BSP since its inception, this new partnership expands our connection with an organization that works passionately to better the quality of life for property service workers and their families. Together, we strive to level the playing field, creating a more inclusive and equitable environment where everyone has an opportunity to thrive and contribute to the betterment of the community as a whole. This powerful alliance epitomizes BOMA's commitment to positively impacting and fostering a stronger, united community for the future. Learn more about our valuable programs and how you can bring BSP to your building.

3. Celebrating Member Achievements: One of the highlights of our association year is recognizing the exemplary contributions and accomplishments of our members. We recently announced this year’s Awards of Excellence winners, shining a light on those who have gone above and beyond in their dedication and service. Join us at this year’s Awards Gala as we present our Awards of Excellence and our TOBY Award winners.

4. Membership Renewals: A gentle reminder that membership renewals are swiftly approaching. We value each of our members and the unique contributions you bring. Renewing your membership ensures you remain a part of our association's vibrant journey and continue to benefit from the vast resources and networking opportunities we offer. Look out for renewal instructions in your email and on our official website soon.

5. Member Spotlight: We want to shine a light on our incredible members and their achievements. If you or someone you know has a story to share or a remarkable accomplishment, please let us know at membership@bomagla.org. We would love to feature you in an upcoming newsletter.

As we approach the final quarter of the year, I would like to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your membership and active participation are the lifeblood of our association.

It is not just the financial aspect of the membership that sustains us, but more importantly, the wealth of knowledge, diversity of perspectives, and boundless enthusiasm our members bring. Every event we organize, every initiative we undertake, and every goal we set is enriched by your involvement and contributions.

Member Testimonial

"I first became a BOMA/GLA member back in 2016, and I have to say, it has been an absolutely incredible journey. Being part of the BOMA community has not only expanded my knowledge of the commercial real estate (CRE) industry, but it has also enriched my life in ways I never anticipated.

One of the most valuable aspects of my BOMA membership has been the opportunity to connect with a diverse group of mentors and friends who have played a pivotal role in guiding me through important decisions in my professional life. These individuals have shared their wisdom and expertise, and I am forever grateful for their support.

My confidence in my CRE career continues to soar, and I owe a significant portion of that to BOMA. The resources, connections, and experiences I have gained through the association have propelled me forward and empowered me to reach new heights."

Advertise with BOMA/GLA

As more organizations enter today's competitive market, commercial real estate professionals are finding it harder than ever to grab the attention of their target audience.

So, why is advertising important when this happens?

Simply put, the average person sees at least 5,000 ads per day which means that it is entirely possible for your brand’s advertisements to reach out to a large audience while conveying the unique selling points of your products or businesses in just a few minutes or even seconds.

Our partnership with Association Revenue Partners will get you started. All graphic services are included.

What's Happening in Advocacy

PAC Fundraiser - BOMA at the Bowl

On Friday, August 25, BOMA/GLA Political Action Committee (PAC) hosted its 10th Annual "BOMA at the Bowl" fundraiser. It was a terrific event with a packed reception, delicious food and wine, and a lovely performance by Boy George at the Hollywood Bowl. We collectively raised over $100,000 for our PAC, which will serve as a foundation for our advocacy work as we face numerous policy challenges and quickly approach the 2024 election cycle.

Special thanks to our PAC members for the tremendous effort they put into making BOMA at the Bowl a success again this year.

BOMA/GLA in Sacramento

Last month, BOMA/GLA leadership attended the California Commercial Real Estate Summit in Sacramento to advocate on behalf of our legislative agenda. Our leaders held meetings with over fifteen elected State Legislators and their staff.

Attendees enjoyed a private dinner with Assemblymember Miguel Santiago who shared his vision for Downtown Los Angeles over the coming years. As a critical stakeholder in the region, leaders were able to share their perspectives and experiences and how BOMA/GLA can contribute solving the challenges we face in the region.
