Good Afternoon St. Stephen Families,

I enjoyed carline this morning seeing all the Western outfits the children were wearing. I hope to see many of you this afternoon at the Family Event.

Congratulations to 4A and 7th grade for winning our door decorating contest. Be sure to stop by and see them today when you come to the Book Fair.

I am happy to introduce everyone to two new employees who will start next week. Mrs. Jaslyn Wallace joins us as our ESE teacher. Mrs. Wallace has experience in both public, charter, and private schools. She is certified in ESE and is certified by Orton Gillingham in Dyslexia and other reading deficiencies. I believe her skills will be very valuable in serving our students. We also welcome Dorothy Garcia who will be an Instructional Assistant for grades 5-8 as well as assisting with our Resource Department. Ms. Garcia has many years of experience as a para-professional working alongside teachers providing instructional services to children. Please join me in welcoming both to St. Stephen.

Remember that tomorrow is a noon dismissal. Extended Day will be available. If your child is staying for Extended Day, please be sure they bring a lunch.

Have a wonderful weekend.

A math program called Math+ is being offered (virtually for right now) to all Middle School Students at St. Stephen. There are no prerequisite requirements except for a love and interest in Math. The courses in this program go well beyond the math being learned in the classroom providing students a much broader view of selected Math Topics.

This Fall’s course focuses on Probability, a mathematical concept that has both practical relevance and important mathematical applications. The course will teach probability while exploring many real-world applications from finance to decision-making to poker. A letter about the course is attached.

The six-session course will be taught online on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 pm starting on Monday, October 4th and ending on October 20th.
