Raising Awareness About Domestic and Intimate Partner Abuse with "The Wisdom Coalition"

Mark Your Calendars: Our Episode Airs Later This Month!

We had a great time chatting with Nancy Werteen of WFMZ and Kim Howie, certified health coach and founder of Live Balanced for Life located in Center Valley, on their podcast, "The Wisdom Coalition's Well of Wisdom."

Lori Sywensky, our Executive Director, spoke about our work to raise awareness about domestic and intimate partner abuse in the Lehigh Valley. She also delved into some of the strategic transformations we've implemented over recent years to better serve survivors' needs, offering a glimpse into our agency's bright and exciting future.

Stay tuned for the release of our episode later this month!

Ensuring Survivors Have What They Need to Start Over

We're fortunate to have incredible community partners who share our dedication to aiding survivors and their families in the Lehigh Valley. Among these cherished supporters, Blessed Beginnings stands out as an amazing ally. They actively advance our mission by providing essential "Welcome Baskets" to survivors as they start over in their new homes.

These carefully crafted baskets include a variety of brand-new, everyday essentials, household items, and kitchenware like pots and pans. In less than a year, Blessed Beginnings' kindness has added up to nearly $6,500 worth of these Welcome Baskets!

These baskets have made a significant difference for numerous survivors who have transitioned into new homes through our transitional housing program, New Beginnings. In the past fiscal year alone, our Housing Advocates assisted 40 survivors in moving into affordable and secure homes.

This partnership truly embodies the power of community when we come together for a shared cause. To all of our community partners, we extend our heartfelt thanks!

Discovering and Reclaiming Agency Through Food

Our Safe House Cooking Classes Go Beyond Culinary Skills

In late July, our Client Advocates kicked off a series of weekly cooking classes exclusively for our Safe House residents. These classes have quickly become much more than just honing culinary skills; they've evolved into a safe space for healing, discovering, and growing.

Our residents have already cooked up some incredible dishes and we are excited to see what other culinary creations they will be focusing on in the coming weeks!
