Circle Members,
Thank you to everyone who helped kick off our new year at the Summer General Meeting. Please continue to renew your membership, solicit golf sponsors and players, donate new or gently used handbags, and plan who to invite to Bags and Bubbles.
September is for Socials! There is a Junior Social on Tuesday September 13 at Forza Storico. Please email Kristen Graham if you plan to attend. On Friday September 16 join us for dinner and a ghost tour in Roswell and bring a date/partner if you like.
While we socialize this month start thinking about how you plan to volunteer in October. If mornings are better for you, on October 14 we are volunteering at the City of Refuge Fall Festival. If you prefer evenings, join us there for Trunk or Treat. We are also looking for volunteers for the golf tournament on October 24; e-mail Kimberly Johnson if your interested in helping.
To volunteer at City of Refuge, with the exception of Trunk or Treat which we will create a sign up genius for, use The Circle volunteer calendar. Click on the event your interested in, in this case Fall Festival. You will be prompted to create an account with City of Refuge if you don’t already have one. You will receive a confirmation email after completing your volunteer sign-up. If its your first time signing up to volunteer you will also receive an email with a link and GOOD DEED code for completing a background check on Sterling Volunteers. There is a $15 fee for the background check. The background check application takes about 5 minutes to complete. Note no background check is required for Trunk or Treat.
We will arrange carpooling for volunteer events at City of Refuge. If your willing to drive or would like a ride please email me at bel_v@yahoo.com.
I encourage us all, myself included, to think about how we can have a multiplier effect on the work of The Circle. Your personal donations and the gifts of your time are greatly valued. We have an opportunity to spread the effort beyond our membership, by soliciting sponsors and auctions items, and inviting non-members to our fundraisers. Its OK if you aren't comfortable asking for donations: I'm not either. If that is the case I challenge you to ask at least one person to sponsor each event and to invite at least one person to each fundraiser.
Vincent Van Gough said "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together". Even a small effort by each of us can make a big difference in the aggregate.
Thank you for playing in a role in great things, and Happy Fall.
