My latest article in the Canadian Encyclopedia is about King George VI and his relationship with Canada, including the 1939 Royal Tour and the Second World War.


My other new article in the Canadian Encyclopedia is about Joseph Whiteside Boyle, a Canadian gold mining millionaire who joined the British Secret Service and became an important figure in Russia and Romania during the First World War.

My new article at History Extra, the online BBC History Magazine discusses the history of domestic service in the early 20th century and how the relationship between the Crawley family and their servants is portrayed in the television series Downton Abbey.
