We are excited to be worshiping together in-person as well as continuing to have an online presence. We are live streaming our worship services on our YouTube page at 10:00 am. Previously recorded and streamed services can also be found here at any time.

September Mission Challenge

For the month of September, we are collecting diapers (open packs are accepted also) for OPEN M. These can be dropped off at the table by the Welcome Center or in the bin outside the main doors.

Acme Community CashBack

The Acme Community CashBack program has begun! Please save any receipts dated after August 1, 2024 and put them in the collection bin by the welcome center. Last year we earned $297.42 for the church!

MZ Luncheon Group

The next luncheon will be at Macaroni Grill in Montrose at noon on Wednesday, October 9th. Please RSVP to Bev or Nancy.

Office Help Needed

We are looking for volunteers to help in the office while Katie in gone October 8-10. Simple office tasks such as answering the phones, filing, etc are all that we ask. Hours are 9 am - 1 pm these days. If you're available and willing to help, please email Katie.

Our Prayer Room is Open!

Enjoy a few minutes of quiet before or after church. Fill out a Prayer Card found outside the door if you want prayer and/or prayer to help family and friends. You can also spend a few minutes at one of our Prayer Stations to enhance your prayer life. This cozy room is for us to become closer to Our God, Our Lord Christ, and Our Blessed Holy Spirit. Please Reach Out to use this room and our special Prayer Team. It is for you and those you care about in your community.

Java & Jesus—Sundays at 11 am

Using the scriptures from Sunday's worship service, we dive deeper into them and discuss applications to our Christian lives. No preparation is needed. So come meet fellow parishioners and take part in the discussion. We meet in Room 8 in the basement at 11 am after worship.

Wired Word—Sundays at 11 am

The Wired Word discusses big questions and scripture loosely related to a current event each week while we enjoy a time of fellowship. No preparation needed and it is a new topic each week, so it's ok if you can't come every week. We meet downstairs in room 3/5/7 after the worship service.

Eat, Pray, Play-Next meeting 9/22 at noon

Families, couples, kids, and kids at heart are invited to gather for fun and fellowship together. We will meet next on 9/22 at noon (after Sunday School) in the FFC for a potluck lunch. Other dates this year are October 19th at Kingsway farm (details to come), November 17th at noon in FFC, December 15th at noon in FFC.

Mission and a Meal

On Sunday, September 22 we will join with other youth from around the Akron area for a "mission and meal." We will eat and make plan (plastic yarn) mats to go to those in need. The event will be from 4-6 pm at Northampton UMC. We will meet at the church at 3:30 pm to carpool for those interested in carpooling. I have not heard from anyone yet, so if your student is planning on coming please reply to this email letting me know they are coming. We could also use plastic bags to make into the plarn you can bring those to the church this week or next. (Please note this is not an ongoing collection, we will only collect bags for this event.) 

Copley/Revere Game

We are in the planning phases of putting together a tailgate for the Copley Revere football game. We will tailgate at the Copley High School parking lot on Friday Oct 25th. This is a church wide event and if you would like to be involved with this please let me know. 

We are off and running this week with the Letter “A”: tasting different kinds of apples, learning about ants, alligators, animals and their habitats, and exploring sizes and weights of acorns. Snacks will include animal crackers, avocado toast, Apple Jack cereal and applesauce.  

September Mission

Parents in preschool are bringing in bags of Starburst Candy for the College Care Packages the church will be sending out next month. Our children will be decorating very special cards that will be attached to each pack of candy that says “ BLAST OFF to a great school year!!”

Chapel Lesson

Who is the strongest person you know? Jack (age 4) says Mr. Potato from Peppa Pig and Liva (age 4) say The Incredible Hulk. Our Chapel Lesson this Wednesday with Pastor Bill is all about Daniel and those Lions. We will learn that God was strong enough to take care of Daniel and God is strong enough to take care of us! Peek in Creation Station after church and see our interactive Bible Story that has come to life!
