The partnership preserves rental apartments in some Cincinnati neighborhoods that are rapidly undergoing urban renewals that could have threatened affordability.
POAH partners with The Model Group to preserve more than 1,000 affordable apartments in Ohio and Kentucky - POAH's largest single acquisition to date
On June 1, POAH acquired 20 properties with more than 1,000 affordable apartments in Ohio and Kentucky from The Model Group, a for-profit development company with deep roots in Cincinnati.  This represents POAH's largest portfolio acquisition to date and comes at a time when some Cincinnati neighborhoods are seeing significant investments in infrastructure, new public transportation options, and an expansion of the district's art and dining scene.

POAH Opens Mixed-Income, Mixed-Use Building on Chicago's South Side
Transit-oriented development is located at the entrance to CTA's Green Line

Woodlawn Station is the latest phase of POAH's re-investment in South Side neighborhoods of Chicago.  Located at the entrance to the  CTA's Green Line station at 63rd and Cottage Grove,  Woodlawn Station features 70 mixed-income units, 55 in a four-story  building at 63rd and Cottage Grove and 15 on scattered sites a block to the south on Maryland Avenue. The newly constructed building also includes 15,000 square feet of first-floor retail space.

POAH's Woodlawn Resource Center helps Chicago residents discover careers

The Woodlawn Resource Center has helped more than 400 people secure employment since it opened in 2015. The WRC offers  skill-building classes, workforce certifications, and education programs as well as GED, college preparedness and digital literacy classes. WRC also offers financial, behavioral health and income support services.

Judith Jacobson  has over 30 years of experience in the affordable housing and community development field and extensive experience in the areas of financing multifamily rental properties, credit enhancement of tax-exempt bonds, first-time homebuyer programs, regulations for mixed finance of public housing, and technical assistance to municipalities.
