September 10 is our fall luncheon! We will be eating barbecue, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, fruit salad, tea/lemonade and dessert. Our speaker, a C-17A pilot, will talk about the proud history and missions of the Global Eagles stationed here at Joint Base Charleston. Their legacy began with the Allied invasion of Sicily during WWII when they spearheaded a 72-aircraft formation to airdrop the 82nd Airborne Division over occupied France in the pre-dawn hours of “D-Day," June 6, 1944. The Global Eagles have participated in military operations during WWII, the Berlin Airlift, Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Iraq, Somalia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Syria and every other major combat or humanitarian operation since 1940. Most recently, the Global Eagles contributed to the largest non-combatant evacuation in history, where 123,000 people were delivered from Kabul, Afghanistan in August 2021. This will be an exciting talk you won't want to miss!
The luncheon begins at 12:30, and the speaker will begin at 1:00. There is a $5 fee per person for lunch. Please RSVP to Chris Olson by September 5. Let her know if you require gluten-free options. If you have RSVP'd and can no longer attend, please also let Chris know by September 5. We want to be good stewards of our resources!

3rd Annual Walk for Water Worship & Prayer
Thursday, September 19
9:30 am - Coffee and Refreshments
10 - 11 am - Worship, Devotion, and Prayer
Join us for a special morning of worship and prayer to begin Walk for Water program. This year, we have the privilege of hearing from Anthony Kowbeidu. Born in Liberia, West Africa, Anthony now serves as the Associate Rector of Missions at St. Andrew’s Church in Mount Pleasant, presenting sponsor of the 2025 Walk for Water. During the event, he will deliver a message on Galatians 6:9, the Walk's key verse for this year. Since 2007, the Charleston Walk for Water has raised awareness and support to help all people have access to safe water and an opportunity to experience God’s love. Before we begin planning for the 2025 Walk for Water, we want to come together to pray over it and praise God for the work He is doing. Join us for a time of fellowship, worship, and prayer at Water Mission's global headquarters as we dedicate the 2025 Walk for Water to the Lord. We invite you to bring your family and friends, as well as the Christian leaders in your life. Please RSVP by September 13 at watermission.org/walkbyfaith. If you have any questions or comments, please connect with Mary Howell at walk@watermission.org.

We will be offering bi-weekly lunches in conjunction with a Bible study starting on September 24. The Bible study is specifically geared for senior adults. This study will assist you in moving from success to significance in your spiritual life. We will look back at what God has done, evaluate what God is doing, and discern God’s purpose in going forward. Don’t let the challenges of life keep you from experiencing God’s fullness. The cost for the luncheon is $5.00 and will start at 12:30. Sign up today and invite your friends. | |

The Prayer Box by Lisa Wingate
Description from GoodReads “When Iola Anne Poole, an old-timer on Hatteras Island, passes away in her bed at ninety-one, the struggling young mother in her rental cottage, Tandi Jo Reese, finds herself charged with the task of cleaning out Iola's rambling Victorian house. Running from a messy, dangerous past, Tandi never expects to find more than a temporary hiding place within Iola's walls, but everything changes with a very captivating discovery of eighty-one carefully decorated boxes.” (Christian Fiction/Historical Fiction)

Unexpected Joy: Finding True Purpose Through Surrender by Kelly C. Miller

With wisdom and wit, Kelly balances foundational Christian doctrine with real-life experiences. TEA PARTIES
Would you be interested in a new way to show love to residents of nursing facilities? In June, several seniors visited The Marsh in Carolina Park and held a tea party for 15 residents. It was so appreciated by the ladies! We each baked a small-portioned dessert to offer to the ladies along with two types of hot tea. To make it extra special, we arranged the sweets on a three-tiered tray and served the tea out of china cups. Our idea is to be able to give a little of our time talking and listening to our guests. If you would like to learn more or get involved with this ministry, or if you have some tea pots or china cups to donate, please contact Carolyn at moyercmm@gmail.com .
