                     Leadership
We are highlighting our 5th grade leaders this week (see box below). At Seneca Academy, we believe all students have leadership capabilities. Our classroom and curricular activities provide many opportunities for students in all levels and grades to practice skills that enable them to be leaders. These include speaking, listening, and presenting, social skills, and thinking skills. As students practice these through the years, they develop the confidence to be able to demonstrate them outside of the classroom as well.

By 5th grade, Seneca Academy students have become poised, responsible, courteous, and positive leaders of our community. They show this as daily safety patrols, opening car doors for younger students; in Tuesday morning Assembly when they model appropriate behavior and also actively support positive behaviors in younger students; and as they move through the school, playgrounds, and community.

We will all be able to witness the leadership (and academic) skills of our 5th graders next April when they present their Exhibitions. We hope everyone in the Seneca Academy community will be able to join in our celebration of their accomplishments!

5th Grade Leaders

As leaders, we must be responsible.

A leader is a role model who demonstrates the IB attitudes. We demonstrate the attitudes by our actions and the way we think about our jobs.

We have many jobs at Seneca Academy now that we are 5th graders. These include being Big Buddies for Mrs. Tanzi's class, taking out the office and the kitchen recycling, being lunch helpers, doing the 5th grade Art Legacy Project, being role models in Morning Assembly and being patrols. A patrol is a leader in school. A patrol is responsible for the safety of fellow students.

We like being Seneca Academy leaders!
