'Twas the day of the event, and all through the Square, Christmas music was blasting, there was magic in the air. The decorations were hung on the storefronts with care, In hopes that the judges soon would be there. The children arrived with parents in tow, To enjoy the food, the music and the show. The festivities began with carols of good cheer, To welcome four new businesses opened this year: Mr. Shoes Plus, Millennium and Shoreline Shine, With VIP Salon make Egleston quite fine. Then off to Latino Salon without delay, To celebrate the best holiday window display. A teen from the Y amazed all with her song, And messages of hope were heard all day long. You see the key to making this a wonderful Square, Are the merchants who spend every single day there. They care for our neighbors, and employ local youth, They're the best thing there is, and that's the truth! So thank you to all who helped lend a hand, To make this event truly quite grand!
